I may be iffy on the displacement .. 2.4 or 3 liters .. .honestly, I'm not quite sure, I have seen both been bantered around, and I would not dismiss either. But - I am quite sure it's a pinto engine modified with a warrior head, tuned by professionals.

That said, these days, it would probably be cheaper to tune a more modern engine .. like the Duratec or even the Zetec engine.

He's had the engine *heavily* modified .. as in, I think it used to be a 2.5 liter and it's about a 3 liter now, if I got my info right.

There's lots of more normal bolt on tuning parts available out there. Try the book "How to modify you Ford SOHC engine" written by David Vizard. He gets quite technical though, but not to worry ... stuff like the Warrior Heads can help you past some of the hard work, but the book will explain why they are better.

@TommyCaff , You have to remember that a 4WD car will under steer and therefore they have to slow down for the corners more, but this guy in the RWD is predicting the slide and kicking the back end of the car out before he even gets to the corner and therefore is taking corners much faster than a 4WD car.

Its only going to be off the lights were the 4WD car will be much better and it might gain about 2 seconds over the RWD Escort but it will soon catch that up i think.

It's a 2 litre Pinto but with a Warrior head. Some company other than Cosworth came up with a twin cam 16 valve head that would bolt straight on. Made lot's of power but never really seemed to be popular for some reason. It's an easy but expensive conversion so maybe that's why it didn't become a great success?? And yeah, N/A. Twin 48 dcoes I think?? Not 100% sure though, i'd have to look it up. They cover this conversion in the book 'The Works Escorts'
