Tango is not to impress people. Perhaps what you saw was milonga, one type of argentine tango. Milonga is danced with milonga music, very fast tempo, about 20% of the whole dance party or social event (also called milonga).
as you know...in argentine tango...she is not "taking" steps...the leader is placing her feet...she only does what murat precisely leads her to do...and, a good follower does not develop a personal "style"...she will reflect the leader's personal style...in my humble opinion...
I think you will soon eat your words. If you knew anything about her, you would be able to project that she has what it takes to be the best we have in N.Amer. As an old milonguero, I personally challenge you to invite them to your town and get her to hit the floor...
no matter how hard I try, I just can't love her dancing. she lacks something that I can't name... either she hesitates before taking the steps or what, don't see an extensivly developed personal technique here...
I agree - too technical in the footwork, or something. Her left arm is low on his back, much like his right arm is holding her. Not very intimate. Kind of holding on for dear life.
