I have been planning on making a similar grinder. Glad I found your video...great job. I was considering a similar concept...but with 3 offset journals - straight journal in the middle...and conical journals on the end. Offset the cones about .001-.002 from the cylindrical bore.....have not calculated the eccentricity ratios yet.... I was also going to have an external oil injection system...so my design was a bit more complicated..perhaps all that is not needed...
ok thank you very much, i''ll try that later. i've mounted a 3000rpm very smooth running motor on the back of the sandle. i've made an adaptor so the mandrel from my jones and shipman surface grinder goes on the motor spindle. this means i can dress a form ie thread form or an angle on surface grinder then transfer to the lathe. using coolant and fine dressing the wheel the finish is really good.

Full length bronze parallel bore, tapered OD with longitudinal split running in 8cc of ATF.
