  • Thats fukn phat dude .... sorry son dad dont know how to make one of those things

  • Wait a second: kinda missed the shutdown effect. Oh well, still really good: did you buy the Hals Labs soundcard or did you get something else?

  • @Red62 not sure whats Hals Labs is. the sound chip is from Replica Props.com and i wired it up myself using DPDT switches and a breadboard.

are you talking about the shutdown sound after you stop firing or the sound when the pack is turned off? i dont use a sound for the pack shutdown because you never see them turn off the packs in the movie therefore you dont know if there is indeed a pack shutdown sound or not.

  • Sweet pack, good job.

I'm in the planning of my own.

  • I love that you used the blast sfx from the video game -- it's basically the extended version used in the 2nd season of the cartoon (copied from the films, of course), and most of my fondest GB memories are from that show!

  • how do i get the sound fx in it???

  • Any chance its up for sale?? or could you make ones by request?? How much

  • wasn't the plexi glass tip supposed to extend when you cock the grip? Oh well.

    iwish I could buy one

  • @Deathclok cock? if you mean twist then no. green lever next to the trigger box. . . .and I didn't do that because its hard to set up a system like that :P

  • @kind2311 In the film, when you twist the grip the plexi glass tip extends. Watch the part where Venkman says "make em hard" when they're about to blast gozer

  • @Deathclok the barrel is clear acrylic tubing, not plexi-glass. watch the scene in the hotel just as ray steps off the elevator and pulls his thrower, he pulls the green lever with his thumb and the clear barrel pops out without the front handle being turned at all. If you'll notice in the "make em hard" scene, all the barrels pop out on all the wands, and only on one of them was the handle turned leading me to believe it was done for visual effect only in that particular scene.

  • @kind2311 I see all of them twisting the grip to make the tip pop.

  • @Deathclok well I was partially wrong as you can only see egon and ray's throwers, but watch again, egons clear barrel pops out without the handle turning at all.

  • @kind2311 i see it simply pop out. it doesn't require a perso to use their hand to do it. I'm not saying anything bad about your prop, it's damnw ell made, and I can't do b etter. im just saying, that they must've had a spring effect in the proton wands shaft and gun tip which from the gozer scene is activated through twisting the shaft's handlegrip

  • @xIegionx its been well documented that the green lever is what made the barrels extend via a spring loaded system. the front handles on the hero throwers all rotated for the actor's comfort(it really makes it easier to hold). in that particular scene, its believed that aykroyd rotated the handle for visual effect. thanks for you compliment im very proud of the pack ;)

  • @Deathclok if you watch carefully in the hotel scene when ray comes out of the elevator he extends his tip with the green lever

  • @Lowclef watch the part where they fight gozer, and watch as the tips extend while they twist the handle. When Venkman says "Make 'em hard"

  • @Deathclok yes but thats not the mechanism. some of the guys twist but not all. and ray pulls the lever without twisting right outside the elevator. it stands to reason that the lever is the activation switch despite the fact that they twist on the roof top

  • @Lowclef I think it is the twist, otherwise they wouldn't have shown a that detailed closeup of it.

  • @Deathclok Alright, let me put this one to bed once and for all... go pull out your Ghostbusters DVD, And watch Ray's hands and thrower at 31 min 32 seconds. He pulls the thrower, flips the switch and the tip extends. Theres even an audible click when he does it. thats it, nothing else needs to be done. Theres no twist, theres no extra movement. Its just a pull of the little green lever.

  • @Lowclef you need to watch the gozer scene again and watch how the tips extend when the grips twist.

  • @Deathclok yeah i saw the scene. thats whats called "acting" "juicing the scene" or "working the prop." Just cuz he twisted the end doesnt mean thats the mechanism. The scene where Ray exits the elevator clearly shows how the tip is extended. There is no twisting required.

  • @Lowclef how do you know the grip doesn't also activate it? No one has ever actually ahd their hands on the real movie prop, and the ones that were found were were broken.

  • @Deathclok also, look at his thumb in that scene, its on the green lever ; )

  • @kind2311 You should watch the scene again. They twist the grip, which cocks the plexi glass tip up.

  • @Deathclok wow dude. youre just plain wrong. i told you how it works, and that all the other barrels pop out WITHOUT the handles being turned.

  • @kind2311 they twist the gun's handle grip. Even if there was a lever pressed it pops out with one single twist. You had trouble trying to pull yours out.

All and all a good prop.

  • @xIegionx no it doesnt. like i told deathclok, watch the scene in the hotel just as Ray gets off the elevator.

  • @kind2311 now if they only sold this kinda stuff in toys r us, I'd be set.

  • nice

  • Nice Pack,

Love the lights thought id add your video responce. I cant be bothered now with the arguments and stuff too old for it. Just started off on the wrong foot i guess..

    All the best

    Elwood

  • do you have a contact email for exoray so i can buy the sounds and lights from him

  • Holy jesus... That is awesome. In fact, it's so awesome if I was a millionaire i'd pay you a stupid amount of money to make me one, because i'm a dumbass with making stuff :(

  • too bad ur not, i would only charge you one hundred billion dollars!

if u want it to shoot real proton streams, thats extra

  • how much does that cost roughly

BY THE WAY YOU ARE FUCKING GOD

I SERIOUSLY LOVE THAT IF IT WAS $300 I WOULD SO BUY IT

  • actually its around $1,500

  • @kind2311 If i asked you to build one and send it to me how much would that cost? I can only pay 2000-3000

  • man i would really love to but im not in the position to be doing any packs on commission right now. if i ever decide to, i'll keep you in mind

  • Hmm...We dont really get to see the Cyclotron in action..

  • i know, i really wish i had gotten a better angle.

perhaps i will do another vid with some more edited shots and some different music. stuff from the score maybe.

  • Apparently my last comment did not post. I love your pack, Vin! Very clean looking, nice attention to detail, and you're using the same light kit as me! But you have sound and that makes me jealous.

Also...I wanna see more rants about your nieghbors. By-ee!

  • I think i need to increase the speed of my Blue lights.. I think yours go much faster. Also ive had a problem mounting them, so i just used duct tape lol. But everything still looks good. Gonna increase the speed of em and get a hair cut soon. We gotta look our best for Dec 5th!

  • Bitching pack vin keep up the good work!!!

    slimershomie

  • I WANT!!!! thats pretty cool

  • a winner is you...a jealous person is me...great job.

  • Looks great! Hope I can build a pack as nice as that one someday!

  • OH EM GEE! Like totally awesome! Lets get the GB song added to our sound chips!

  • TOP NOTCH BUILD!!! Maybe the best I've seen yet.

  • Not too shabby.

  • That is awesome!
