Does the auto mustang have tiptronic? If soo then its just as good as the manual just with out the clutch and shifted by a computer no matter what...and dont have to worry about chnaging out the clutch..

Area is only a small part of the equation. I can see that alot of people see driving as just another chore they have to do, hence the popularity of automatics on the road. If one actually enjoyed driving as a whole...why, would you drive an automatic car? I myself have to drive through heavily populated areas where major roads are constantly temporary parking lots...But I wouldn't buy an automatic car to make it easier for me. well then maybe you have some serious patience and tolerance. but some people don't. People who would like to get a high performance car with an auto and drive through a heavy populated area is great. you just step on the gas and just go. but i can't say the same for a manual though.
When you become proficient driving a manual, driving through traffic and heavily populated areas (which I happen to live in) becomes second nature. That's not to say that a manual is for everyone, but I personally prefer it.
Why is it so "cool" to drive manual? Who gives a fuck it's just another way to drive a damn car. Auto lets you cruise without thinking. Sure you may not have to think once you get used to manual but you still have to listen to the engine. Auto is easier and now supercars are coming in auto so suck a cock.
First off when you are accelerating with a manual you can go through the gears quicker thus acheving the quicker 0-60 time and being ultimatly faster with an automatic it will hang when you are in the high RPM range since you have to wait for the transmission to ingage the the clutch discs
AT is great for accelerating. A modern transmission like Volkswagens' DSG shifts faster than a race driver!
But if you go around corners, it sucks: it shifts up when you need rpm! You can use the paddles, but its not fast enough to follow and "chokes" itself.
This gets even worse when you add a turbo: You get the turbo lag AND the automatic. Very annoying!
AT is great for the straight line. Can't beat a fast car with AT at the redlight. But when it comes to cornering, better go for a manual.
PijnigeR- I have never heard that stereotype. Sorry we don't make all of our cars with paddle shifters and that bullshit "manual mode" that you see on alot of german cars, we stick to actual manual transmissions with three functional pedals. And hey, alot of people do drive autos (have you ever tried to commute in the bay area with a stick? It's a huge pain in the ass!)

Yep, perfectly understood. It's just a shame they even offer automatics in high powered cars. Doesn't do the car or driver the justice and certainly tones down the performance ability. No gear will ever be chosen for me...I'll make that decision myself :D

Area is only a small part of the equation. I can see that alot of people see driving as just another chore they have to do, hence the popularity of automatics on the road. If one actually enjoyed driving as a whole...why, would you drive an automatic car? I myself have to drive through heavily populated areas where major roads are constantly temporary parking lots...But I wouldn't buy an automatic car to make it easier for me. Personally, I say piss the auto and triptronics off. Just my 2c.

AUTOS Suck compared to Manual it is all about going through the gears at the desired RPM range and not having to wait on that damn Auto tranny to hang and do it for you a half second later (which will mean a win or loose in racing

well then maybe you have some serious patience and tolerance. but some people don't. People who would like to get a high performance car with an auto and drive through a heavy populated area is great. you just step on the gas and just go. but i can't say the same for a manual though.

When you become proficient driving a manual, driving through traffic and heavily populated areas (which I happen to live in) becomes second nature. That's not to say that a manual is for everyone, but I personally prefer it.

Why is it so "cool" to drive manual? Who gives a fuck it's just another way to drive a damn car. Auto lets you cruise without thinking. Sure you may not have to think once you get used to manual but you still have to listen to the engine. Auto is easier and now supercars are coming in auto so suck a cock.

First off when you are accelerating with a manual you can go through the gears quicker thus acheving the quicker 0-60 time and being ultimatly faster with an automatic it will hang when you are in the high RPM range since you have to wait for the transmission to ingage the the clutch discs

AT is great for accelerating. A modern transmission like Volkswagens' DSG shifts faster than a race driver!
But if you go around corners, it sucks: it shifts up when you need rpm! You can use the paddles, but its not fast enough to follow and "chokes" itself.
This gets even worse when you add a turbo: You get the turbo lag AND the automatic. Very annoying!
AT is great for the straight line. Can't beat a fast car with AT at the redlight. But when it comes to cornering, better go for a manual.

PijnigeR- I have never heard that stereotype. Sorry we don't make all of our cars with paddle shifters and that bullshit "manual mode" that you see on alot of german cars, we stick to actual manual transmissions with three functional pedals. And hey, alot of people do drive autos (have you ever tried to commute in the bay area with a stick? It's a huge pain in the ass!)
