I agree totally,i believe if denman has someone capable aboard him, he could as you say get into that agreesive rythm and perhaps run the legs out of the field including kauto star, i also think alot of the other runners will be told to try and disrupt the big twos rythm and i think denman could cope better with the bully boy tactics, but ultimately it is a race between the two of them

Hi Keith- I keep making the mistake of backing each way against Kauto in the gold cup. I have tried the late exotic Dancer who,sadly, was never going to beat Kauto in any race, Neptune Collonge in 2008 25/1 and Denman 8/1 this year.
In my opinion Kauto,at his best, is a machine and better than anything we have ever seen before and that includes Arkle, Desert Orchid, Best Mate,Denman and even Nortons Coin.
i would have to agree that he is the best steeple chaser of our generation! The pace to win 2 tingle creeks and the stamina in abundance to win 3 king georges and 2 gold cups! he's my favourite horse ever but i do take my hat off to denman as it was fantastic to come back and retain the hennessy after the heart problem! roll on march and kauto can put his name in stone with 3 gold cups...........

kauto stars crowning glory winning a very very average gold cup? dont make me laugh. the race was run at a crawl and lacked real strength in depth. id say his 2007 king george win was his crowning glory
