@Springwasframed1 Apparently you have to knowledge about ammunition. The so called "detonator" your talking about it call the primer. And if you flick the primer the shell will not go off. But it is right he should not be playing with live ammunition. If you drop any shotgun shell or 9mm, etc. And it hits something sharp it may go off. But that's from dropping it from 5-10 feet. The firing pin on. Pistol or rifle has to hit the primer with decent force for it to fire.
