@ptaafee he cried before the game because he was so proud to represent one country. like he was born in japan but raised with korean mindset...it was hard for him because his dad who was raised as japanese strongly disagreed with his son joining north korea and his mom on the other hand wanted him follow his heart and yes he does have coach who teaches him far as i know he fluently speaks japanes, korean, and is learning germany.
Jong Tae Se can play football like no tom. He can also speak Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and English amazing. I wonder what he can do if you played for South Korea.
Actually he learnt to speak Portuguese with his Brazilian team-mates, and he speaks impressively well for someone who never lived in Portugal or any other Lusophone country. He actually cries during the national anthem before every game he plays for Korea DPR. Funny fact: his parents are both second generation South Koreans.
Cadê a diversão no futebol, gente? eu hein
According to another clip, he picked up the Portugese language from his Brasilian teammates in Japan.
Seems he's not just an industrious striker, but also a keen learner off the pitch. In Japanese soccer scene, they have a strong influence from the Brasilians. You'll see much Brasilian players and trainners......
@hakatastation WOW! Portuguese is veeeeery different from korean and japanese so the fact that he learn portuguese just by speaking with his brazilian teamates is AMAZING. He is smart!!! :D His portuguese is pretty good!!! (He's also a pretty good player)
Where did he pick up his Portuguese ?? He hasn't lived in Brazil or Portugal, as far as I know. Perhaps he had a Brazilian coach or something. What other languages does he speak ?
@ptaaffe Maybe, he likes a lot of brazilian soccer and then he wanted to learn some of portuguese. I guess that because he cries before playing against Brazil, was like a dream for him I guees
@maurimc I think it's because he plays professional soccer in Japan. There is a large population of Brazilians in Japan and vice versa. Not only that but he was actually born in Japan, so that might explain why he speaks good Portuguese.
@maurimc although that makes a lot of sense, this is probably due to the fact that he played in Japan for a long time and learned Portuguese from his Brazilian teammates
@DaRealInDaInternet yeah but in fact he is japanese o.O but of north korean fathers, just that contrary to a lot of north koreans living in japan, he is communist and a well known defender of North Korea.
@ptaaffe He said, his dream was playing in Europe, and he thinks brazilians are best. that is why he learned portuguese himself to get ready for playing in high-class league.
@ptaaffe He said, his dream was playing in Europe, and he thinks brazilians are best. that is why he learned portuguese himself to get ready for playing in high-class league.
@ptaaffe he lived in japan but when the world cup was coming, the north koreans called him up to serve the country, his parents were north koreans but he was born in japan, i guess he learnt it there
@ptaaffe I guess he had Japanese-Brazilian friends when he grew up in Japan. There are quite a few Brazilians that have Japanese heritage that live in Japan for work. Also, there are quite a few Brazilian players playing for the teams in the Japanese league, where he played before moving to Germany.
