lexus is an ugly car. i would rather be caught dead in a proton than in a lexus. lexus is like a kitten trying to be a lion. just not up to the par with german automaker. the only reason lexus sell is better options. its like what the korean auto maker are now doing. giving better value for money. but in the end its still korean. just like lexus, in the end its still japanese. end of story.
Even WORSE than the previous model; this looks like a Hyundai Sonata! Nothing flows together! The E-Class, 5 Series, and A6 blow this out of the water! Heaven's sake, I would rather settle for a (much better overall) Infiniti M. Lexus just stepped behind Infiniti in styling. HORRIBLE!
@SanDiegoInnOut umm everything flows together on the sonata its just is curvier than the germans cause the germans have no creativity when it comes to car designing. look at a sonata and jjust start at a random point on the car and follow the line it connects to almost everything. most cars are done in 4 or 5 lines

@SmokeEm122 Oh really??!! COPY?! First of all, China doesn't make cars on on the same scale as even France. Second, the Japanese are pioneers (not inventors but innovators) when it comes to cars. Americans learned KAIZEN from the Japanese.
Everyone learns from everyone, you just call it copying. They call it "when something works in business, why mess with it?!" And that goes for the American, Europeans, Japanese and everyone who's in business.
I'm a Cadillac guy, I see GM failing every year on their interiors. They should try to get a "BMW" like interior like yours. Good job Lexus you did good!
@FCScorpio79 You also noticed what a blantant COPY the interior is of a German car too, huh? Lexus and Toyota can go suck it...they are so over for me.....
how is that interface nice? overbright blue colour scheme .. looks like something i would find cool back in the 90ties when 256 colours on a pc was the stuff... just look at the idrive or mmi ... looks much better
Such a copy of a German interior. Hey Lexus....(or should we address you as TOYOTA?)....how about some ORIGINAL designs of your own? Oh, the outside looks like a jazzed up car from Korea.
@adyyy22 Are you even aware of what has been happening to that "iron clad" reputation Toyota had for quality and reliability in the past 5 to 10 years? Are you? If not, you embarrass yourself with your post....even TOYOTA execs have ADMITTED to reliabilty and quality lapses in the past 5 to 10 years.
@aaaredskin How about Toyota was taking over US auto sales and GM was selling shit. Something had to be done to ruin their reputation as good quality. How many years was Camry the best selling car? Yeah, that's what i though. I have an 07 Camry, not one single issue with it. My friend has 90 Camry, 250.000 miles, everything original, sounds and rides smooth, i mean what's that about? Give me a break.
@aaaredskin A man that knows how to save money, man that would rather spend money on his family than car that breaks down constantly. a man that knows quality.
Nice try troll. But Toyota's reliability ranking by JD and Consumer Reports has NEVER fallen out of the top 5 out of 35 car companies. NEVER. And by the way no German company besides Porsche has ranked higher than 20th in the last decade.
Weak rebuttal. By my assessment, you are an unemployed 28 year old living in your parent's Den. Your other unemployed sibling took the basement, at least he doesn't troll on Youtube since he's too busy playing LOL or WOW.
@utahgs At least I can take pride that I will never be seen driving a Toyotya Camry! My gosh....I bet you like VW convertible Beetles too....another girl car! Bet you have a skinny neck with broomstick arms and legs...lol...
Does everyone remember when BMW was ridiculed for their i-Drive system back when it was first introduced? Granted…it was a very new concept… and the new system is VERY easy to use. Why is it now that all of their competitors now have “copied” them? Yes, I am a BMW enthusiast. It can be summed up like this. “BMW leads the way in technology.” I don’t care what anyone says. Name me a car now that is not “going” to some sort of “i-Drive” system. Their just naming it something else.
@BigKiddStats - then u will kno the back end of a sonata is different ... with the lights more roundish .... get them checked again ... jus a suggestion .. mayB its time
anyone else think that the rear of the car is derived from the Lexus IS? Also, it seems (to me) that the rear tail lights resemble the 2011/2012 Hyundai Sonata (when there is low light)
While it may be attractive, this Lexus is imitating not innovating. Up front, the GS looks like a more aggressive Nissan Maxima with Audi inspired headlights. Down back, Lexus went to their photo copiers and hit duplicate on Volkswagen's new "L" tail light that we also see on newer BMWs (e.g.: 2012 3-Series). The sat/nav is seemingly gorgeous but is left feeling like a gimmick (that is, it tries too hard) and their version of iDrive looks more like "iDon't". The GS is charming but I'm not a fan.
@andreuoid i have to admit that Toyota/Lexus are finally ditching their boring look to a more fresher look, and i was bit impressed. However, it does not strike to me as original nor innovative as you said. It's just an updated Lexus, and its design will become boring after couple months of its launch. Most shocking to me was the rear tailights... I could not believe Lexus made a design that resembles Hyundai Sonata...
There's no way the 4th Gen GS is better looking than the 3rd Gen. This new one is just ungainly, does not flow well, and looks like Lexus was trying to 'out BMW BMW'. I hate the that 3rd gen didn't sell as well as the 5, A, or E. But it wasn't because of the design. The last 5 series BMW was not an attractive car either, but it had the right logo on the hood.
@wholeNwon You drive an LS400 ... not even a 460 ... which means your car is about 5-9 years old. That in its self would be reason for me to get the new GS 460. In many regards, the new GS has tecnology and features, that aren't even found on the current LS 460/600hL. Not to mention, you're comparing two totally different cars. An LS is a soft, vanilla, luxurious ride, geared toward older people. The GS is a sporty, engaging, luxurious ride, geared towards younger people.
@Neno8403 No, my LS400 is 14 years old now. Yes, when I wasn't looking, I got old (how did that happen?). The car has stability control, traction control, ECT, continuously variable valve timing, a superb audio system, built in radar detectors (front and rear antennas), etc. With tire pressure at 32 psi, handling is very acceptable (relative to 2 new M-B "sports sedans" I've owned). Reliability, of course, has been much better than the M-Bs.
They had me until you got to the interior....why does every automaker feel the need to create a miserable digital interphase for all the controls? Just give me simple tactile controls and my smartphone will do the rest!
LOL. I love reading comments on Lexus videos just to see the idiotic comments! Dummies stating the new GS's rear "looks like a Sonata!" and "looks like a Bimmer" ... this despite the FACT That these tail lights are blended evolutions of the current Lexus IS and LS ... two vehicles that were both out years before the current Sonata AND BMW which ripped off Lexus, not the other way around!! Dummies stating Lexus ripped off Audi's LEDs. Are they crying foul over Mercedes + Chrysler who did it too?
Excellent! BMW's Technology and reliability - they're CRAP, they'll never catch up to Lexus. BMW would probably be reliable if you take away all the technology. Going back to Lexus, no more German cars for me.
Looks like they copied all the other auto makers style and came up with this car. BMW like interior and tail lights, Audi style front grill, and leds, Infiniti clock. lol.
The exterior is alright but the interior disappointed me a lot! The navigation screen looks like a BMW and the controls for it as well. I loved it when it was touch screen... I love Lexus but nothing seems original on this one!!
Well executed. Design is very strong and unique. Excellence first look review from a guy who clearly knows the industry. Well done Lexus, well done 001.
@jugerknott09 Yea I think they played it safe to see how the masses react. They may make some slight tweaks between now and when it launches next year. But what I am looking forward to is the redesigned Lexus IS
There's is nothing like it...Lexus has done an awesome job this time again. I love that in your face front facia. Excellent car. Can't wait for it to be at the dealership.
i hate so much right now lexus!!! 9 years u didnt change the look of the gd!!! and we were waiting all this long time for what!! to see new gs just look like a camry ??? really desipointed!!! i really wish that u just stuck with the older look :(
@claudeleason Yeah, I agree. This GS FAR exceeds the drab, boring, dull designs of the 5-Series, E Class, and wannabe Jaguar. Someone finally speaks the truth!
Which was the first to hit the streets with led in the front of the vehicle that started the industry craze for the technology. If the question was led introduced in the headlight first... its still up for grabs because the r8 hit us before the ls did in the states for sale. The lsh was on sale in japan before the states. First in full led headlights is audi. Just to let you know anyone can write on wikipedia
Hey buddy I didnt call anyone out of there name... But anyways its knida hard for me to be an idot with a masters degree. I'm letting you know that the Audi r8 was the first in the automotive industry with full led lighting technology in its headlights. A full led headlight....on the other hand the LSh had led's for the low beam only. Thats a huge difference right? So the question was who was the first to have leds in the front of the cars right? I answered correct with the audi s6.
Agent 001 saying diff parts of the Lexus look like Audi and other elements of other companies is radical. Its a Lexus, it looks like an Lexus. Nice evolution from the previous GS. The cars original to the tee...Only thing it favors is its own siblings like all other companies cars favor each other. All Acura,Bmw's, Audi's, Infiniti's, Mercedes and so forth favor there car, and suv siblings.
Honestly, I am not impressed by new design, look too confusing with new ES, although not to the lexus owners. especially both front and rear lamps look too similar shape with ES, i was hopping to see slip front lamps like prev one, also tail like 2nd gen, but oh well
Lexus is gonna use that front grill as a trademark. There is gonna be gs350-F SPORT but no gs-f. Ls-F sport, rx-F sport and ct-F sport are soon to come.
This is a nice lexus! Nice exterior and interior. I'll buy this anyday over a bmw or mercedes. Btw lexus was the first with the led front lights, not audi. LS600hl was the first.
@Abel12V There is a difference between LED technology for Projectors and LED Day time running lights. Audi was the first to introduce LED DRL's on the market. Lexus simply had LED technology in their headlights, just a step up from Xenon headlights but the LS never had DRL's. And if you want to take it back as far as LED technology then the Infiniti was the first to introduce LED tail lights on all of their cars back in 2000.
looks like a maximum

1. front grill looks like predator bad
2. interior design from LF-A good
3. overall design cannot match BMW MERC or JAG
claudeleason 5 months ago
@claudeleason Design destroys the Merc and has more presence than the Jag but not as pretty as either the Jag or BMW.
Slimecrazy234 5 months ago

Ls-F sport, rx-F sport and ct-F sport are soon to come.
eulluisgtr34 5 months ago
@eulluisgtr34 but how do you know that???
whippedful 5 months ago
@whippedful cuz i work at a Lexus dealer and we had a meeting on all the new stuff that's coming out.. They want to unveil gs350-F SPORT at SEMA.
eulluisgtr34 5 months ago
I do not believe that the next gen GS looks like audi or bmw. It's in a totally different leag.

Audi copycat outside
BMW inside
Steering wheel looks like they just took it from GX
And this guy is brand snob.... Not worthy qualified for review editor....

I like the exterior...looks original and lexus-like. Inside looks exactly like a BMW. I just wish Lexus stuck to its authentic interior design.

This is a nice lexus! Nice exterior and interior. I'll buy this anyday over a bmw or mercedes. Btw lexus was the first with the led front lights, not audi. LS600hl was the first.
Abel12V 6 months ago 19
@Abel12V hahaha lexus lol it looks like audi 0:39
MrGermancarlover 6 months ago
@Abel12V There is a difference between LED technology for Projectors and LED Day time running lights. Audi was the first to introduce LED DRL's on the market. Lexus simply had LED technology in their headlights, just a step up from Xenon headlights but the LS never had DRL's. And if you want to take it back as far as LED technology then the Infiniti was the first to introduce LED tail lights on all of their cars back in 2000.

dude i wuld love to see a prooff as i am a lexus fan i wana now coz led front lights is only been famous by audi
