My parents divorced when I was 6 years old,and my mom moved to Geaorgia so I only saw her twice a year,My birthday and Christmas. I loved that I could see both my parents then and not just one. I'm really close to my mom and dad and thats just proof that family's can stay together in heart. <3

Ah well....Christmas.....so every year my family has this tradition eating waffles and ice cream for breafast. But this isn't just close relatives but literally all of us ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. And its kinda cool cause no matter where you are and what other families you're with in spirit you're kinda with your own family. Plus then you pass the tradition on and they become part of our family and its just really sweet. The one time of year when I always feel like I belong somewhere. :)
to me, chirstmas is all about going to help the little kids that i go visit in the hospital every year around christms time. its the best feeling in the world to see there faces light up to the sight of toys!

Modern times has changed our views(mainly children) for most families focus on the materialistic meaning of Christmas, which isn't the true meaning. For me, however, the holidays are all about spending time with your closest family and friends and spreading holiday spirit! During this time, I tend to appreciate what I have and who I am surrounded with. But, remember, it's CHRISTmas.

Its about forgiving and forgetting, getting and giving. My mom makes a VERY YUMMY breakfast in the morning that we only have on christmas morning :) It gets us ready and more excited to open gifts :D! And then we go down and open gifts, which is really fun, just seeing the smiles on everyones faces, its amazing. I got my sister the gift she wants but, I told her they ran out of them, so now shes pissed! W.e she'll be even more happy to see it on christmas then :D!
Christmas is also about shopping until your brokee. Not just the money way either! :) Its about watching a family member (my uncle) dress up as santa claus, EPIC FAIL :) and do a very very bad impression :D i love him though!, Christmas is magic. To me, Christmas means rest. It's like God came down and held up a stop sign to my troubles, telling them "Not now, let her rest. You're not welcome on this sacred day". It's not merely a time of giving, it's also a suspension from everyday greed and worries. Reality can't reach you during this holiday. You see an act of charity and you don't think "cliche or fake or self-serving", you see the beauty in humanity, you feel the connections with your fellow man.
Christmas isn't about the presents or decorations. It's about being with the ones you love. Distance doesn't matter. This year I was in the hospital for Christmas, 2 hours away from my home, my family. Only my mom is with me. But my family came down on the 22nd, and that was Christmas. Being together, me having my kidney transplant after waiting to even be able to for 2 years. My health is my best present, even if I was 2 hours away from my family. We love each other and that's all that matters.

Ah well....Christmas.....so every year my family has this tradition eating waffles and ice cream for breafast. But this isn't just close relatives but literally all of us ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. And its kinda cool cause no matter where you are and what other families you're with in spirit you're kinda with your own family. Plus then you pass the tradition on and they become part of our family and its just really sweet. The one time of year when I always feel like I belong somewhere. :)

Anyway, the real meaning of Christmas (to me) is The birth of Jesus and how much of a miracle it was to have the savior born from the virgin Mary. (I feel bad for Joseph XD) That's also when the three kings were guided through the desert by a bright shining angel which happened to be where Jesus was born.

For me christmas is being with my family, and it's the one day a year the arguing is toned down,
not saying we don't argue but we just put up with each other for just one day,
Christmas also to me is a time i can waste away money on my friends and family and always try to get something that means something to them, or reminds me of them and i never ask for anything in return, christmas is peaceful to me.

Religously(sp?) for the Christian religion is to celebrate our saviour, Jesus Christ's, birthday. Modern times has changed our views(mainly children) for most families focus on the materialistic meaning of Christmas, which isn't the true meaning. For me, however, the holidays are all about spending time with your closest family and friends and spreading holiday spirit! During this time, I tend to appreciate what I have and who I am surrounded with. But, remember, it's CHRISTmas.

Its about forgiving and forgetting, getting and giving. My mom makes a VERY YUMMY breakfast in the morning that we only have on christmas morning :) It gets us ready and more excited to open gifts :D! And then we go down and open gifts, which is really fun, just seeing the smiles on everyones faces, its amazing. I got my sister the gift she wants but, I told her they ran out of them, so now shes pissed! W.e she'll be even more happy to see it on christmas then :D!

Christmas is also about shopping until your brokee. Not just the money way either! :) Its about watching a family member (my uncle) dress up as santa claus, EPIC FAIL :) and do a very very bad impression :D i love him though!, Christmas is magic. Thats a true fact. On christmas everything just goes smoothly. Everyone is happy and has christmas spirit! All the families come together. And if you have a very hyper pet. They usually tip over the tree ;) Usually happens with us :D.

Its about your grandparents er your parents er aunts and uncles playing old old christmas music that you cant stand :) But you still decide to put up with it because on that day, seeing everyone.. Every christmas will stay etched into your mind until your old, that day when you way up with your stocking packed full of little toys, and the Downstairs living room literally overflowing with presents. Christmas isn't about the presents or decorations. It's about being with the ones you love. Distance doesn't matter. This year I was in the hospital for Christmas, 2 hours away from my home, my family. Only my mom is with me. But my family came down on the 22nd, and that was Christmas. Being together, me having my kidney transplant after waiting to even be able to for 2 years. My health is my best present, even if I was 2 hours away from my family. We love each other and that's all that matters.

to me christmas means watching ridiculous christmas movies, listening to christmas music til you wanna poke your eyes out, eating with the whole family, and (this goes for my family) laughing at which one of your uncles gets drunk the fastest. [:
