  • I am wondering... do ya know how make an MVS 4-slot work with a VGA monitor???

  • Hey I hope you're still around, I just got this on eeebay is guess I'll find out soon enough... But are the missing arcade monitor scan lines still there and f not are they missed? Maybe I'm crazy but the games look different on original monitors.

  • I'm going to buy a marvel vs capcom cps2 board with both the a and b boards. I'm new to this so I want to know how to hook this up to my TV. Please reply

  • I'm gonna get myself one next week. Can't wait to use it, sick of TV cards Xp

  • hey luke, that´s a nice little unit, but i have a question. if you have a sega naomi cabinet, wich has a vga monitor also, are u able to play jamma games on that cab with that little unit? =) well i guess you have to wire up the controllpanel and you gotta have an external power supply i guess, right?^^

  • It looks really simple. The 5V and ground wires you mentioned that plug into the harness, do I have to solder those or how would I go about doing that?

  • @burns32 Yes, they'd need soldering.

  • i want one of these but i'm afraid about latency

  • Luke, great video. Love that game :) I just ordered one of the rgb converters, it's awesome. Keep on gaming :D

  • I was all excited with that link. I've been planning to build a full sized mame cabinet for a while now. Just had no clue where to get the buttons. I was considering mounting an atari joystick...and had this plan sketched out to make a coin hopper, but I can't beat the prices of the stuff on the site. Then I saw "Ships from Hong Kong" *sigh* Have a resource closer to the states that isn't ebay?

  • Amazing as always Luke, thumbs up and into my favorites it goes. = )

  • (Y) :)

  • Good stuff Luke.

  • chinese quality's VGA

  • These devices will work with retro consoles. You will need a sync splitter not a sync amp, for the Saturn etc or ensure your console is wired for composite sync to work with this device. Been there and done it.

This scaler is OK.... but the quality is a bit low rent compared to proper line doublers. However for the price it certainly does what it needs to.

Info videos about all of this on my channel or look at the threads on SHMUPS.

  • Could I plug my Turbo Grafx straight into this then vga to monitor??? Without any wire hacking???? cheers

  • I bought the aforementioned version from Paradise Arcade Shop because many consoles and old computers have RGB output. Hard part is cabling. Either getting a SCART cable for a console and hacking it up or soldering a custom connector to the boards is necessary, but the results... They've got to be better then composite to VGA conversions.

  • Awsome

  • That one was really nice but I remember playing that one on the 0.99 version of Mame32 Emulator that I have but it wasn't that good like both Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel Vs. Capcom are.

  • Are you ready for a new challenger lol epic

need to get one of those looks real handy

  • you r def due for a partnership. very few channels do what u do, but bar far ur the best!!!!

  • Really glad you posted this. Ive always wanted to see a close look of this!

  • I just got one of these last week for my Neo Geo cab that I just set up. I like it alot, though I'm still trying to fine tune the picture. Sure beats having the shop around for a arcade monitor. I work in IT so nice CRT's are easy to come by. ;)

  • This thing is very cool. I want One! I wonder how easy it would be to hook up some of the older retro consoles that support RGB. Looks like a great solution for people like me with no room for a proper arcade cab.

I have the VGA box for the Dreamcast and with a little adjustment in the TV settings the picture quality is stunning. So good you could easily believe you were playing a 360 arcade title via HDMI. Especially with games like Jet Set Radio, DoA and Daytona *drools*.

  • pretty awesome converter OHHHHHHHHHH MANNNNNN~

  • yeah seems useful. remember seeing YourMKArcadeSource talk about it before.

  • nice one bro. thats really kickass

  • AWESOME

  • cool vid!!

  • So, you've essentially built yourself a Super Gun?

  • almost the same as the dreamcast vga conveter.

  • this converter in combination with the slg3000 (shmups website) and you'll have scanlines on your monitor.

  • CHING CHONG PING PONG!

  • i looked for this thing in years,,,thanks!now,i need something that does the opposite

  • please do a video using it for old videgames. i think a lot of people would be very interested

  • You can get them cheaper from paradise arcade shop on ebay, only $39.89 shipped in the US. Ebay item # 140521303998. And that's the dual VGA output.

I've owned a few and they work great. Just remember that certain arcade games that have a funky sync rate might not display properly or at all.

  • dude thank you for the info bro wow i still need to make my arcade set up as well

  • hey i got the same thing in the mail yesterday lol! except i got the one with 2 vga outputs

  • I love you Luke xxx

  • Hey luke can you try to use this with a Mega Drive or SNES or PC Engine. I am very interested to see how an old skool 16 bit system would look on an LCD. Even a PS2 via RGB would be a good test also. Most older gen systems look crappy on an LCD unless a XRGB is used (very pricey). Much appreciate it if you can do a comparison of composite vs RGB to VGA converter.

  • Hey Luke, im diyng to get one of these for a long time, but theres my question, this one would be compatible with old videogames like Sufami, Sega saturn, etc with the rgb signal from them? im not sure if it would be some compatibility issue with the frequency of resolution

  • @Padoca85 It works on older systems, but systems like the Saturn you will need to build a small but simply RGB amp since the RGB is kinda dim from the AV socket on the Saturn.

  • Fantastic piece of equipment! How about manufacture quality of the peripheral?

  • wow the quality looks great

  • Looks really sweet on your monitor, have you heard of the SLG3000 ? If you havent its a scanline generator and i believe it will make your picture look even better :)
