how are you guys making the burners? Ive seen a few on here with a big fire like that, the few Ive done liek this I use a few candles and barely get any lift
@beardies4eva You can buy some tissue paper, paste and cut the shape of a sphere, better a big sphere, such as a world ball for references, then, in the "south pole" you fit a wire circle with some toilette paper wetted with candle wax (parafin) in its centre. give fire and fly fly!!

I tried another way of doing this. It used a cut up wire hanger to make an X and I used one of those rectangle logstarters for a fuel source...and a trash bag. I tried several times but...never got it off the ground. Came close though.Whats the deal with that? Does it need to be cold outside?
This is what has been responsible for many of the ufo reports in the uk recently. Mr. Wizard had an episode on how to make one of these when I was a kid. I made one and it got caught on a power line and the candle blew out. Never made one since.

Next time try making a "tube" of sorts with aluminum, it will keep the heat from shrinking the sides... to an extent.
