I saw this with a "0-60 in .4 seconds (when dropped from a plane)" tagline. I thought this rather unlikely (.4s is a fall of *3 feet*... we'd all be dead as kids jumping off the stairs early :). WolframAlpha says it would take 2.7 seconds (and 120 feet) to reach 50 MPH.

They couldn't have referred to horizontal speed, as that was _already_ conferred by the plane to the Sonic before it left the plane.

They are advertising it as "0-60 mph in 0.4 seconds". Did these people completely fail even high school science classes? 60 mph in 0.4 seconds requires acceleration of 67m/s², while gravity accelerates the car at only 9.8m/s², and that's without drag. That means that there is an additional source of thrust at nearly 6x the weight of the car. That car should be able to fly and reach orbital speeds in less than three minutes! This is absolutely ridiculous.
