love this song and singer.mezzo-soprano music, imho, is different than soprano, and i,for one, love the tones/richness of the voices. would love to hear the entire score to this and hope to see it if it ever comes to our area.

This song suits her really well. I think Sierra's phrasing is better though - she communicates the lyrics better. Katherine appears to sail over the high notes with more richness than sierra due quite simply to the fact that Katherine's version is written several tones lower than sierra's because she's a mezzo.

Sierra is a wonderful actress and a perfect singer, i don`t think the two can be compaired, singing it out on context must be difficlt, but sierra has a much more pleasing and soft tone , i feel ms Jekins is a touch harsh vocally, and what the hell she sells a truck loads of Cds, but both good in there own way, face facts who got the part in the show!!

I saw and heard Sierra sing it again last night and tried to see Sierra singing it better than Kathereine Jenkins -no way .Sierra`s version : Sweet voice very high ,but so thin ,Icannot see much emotion there .Sorry Katherine leaves her for dead lovely rich voice ,emotion everything .

Lloyd Webber said he wanted soprano rather than a mezzo for the Musical .

How would Katherine have fitted it .She seems to be fully booked up .

He left Katherine to sing it to the world .he knows who sells .

There is no competition between Sierra and Katherine. Katherine wins she is an outstanding vocalist. Her voice is much stronger and developed and you can really share the emotion without it being over the top. She floats gracefully over the notes and shoes no effort, making the whole song sound simple and innocent. Very angelic.

Katherine's a mezzo, Sierra a coloratura soprano, but Weber knows his market, specifically using famous-in-UK Jenkins to sell the song there.
