A pinch harmonic is when you take the pick, strum and make it hit your thumb right afterwards. An artificial harmonic is when you put your "fretting hand" lightly over one of the frets (the part that seperates 2 frets) and strum.

For the solo, you just need to practice it slow using a metronome and slowly build up speed (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%), or smaller increments if you need to. ^^;
