  • i've a question, when i go photoshop, and do that perspective i pressed enter, and it doesnt grab my "SELECTED ZONE" and put it into a new file ...:( i use ps cs5.

Do i need a hotkey for that?

  • @RubenDandrea87 i answer myself.. well it was not the selection tool. thats why it didnt work with ENTER.

  • But you didn't explain how to actually get the texture to tile. Sketchup just.... did it on it's own, and it's not doing that for me.

  • @orlv I can think of 2 things that might be causing an issue. Firstly, In order to import an image texture directly onto a face, you need to make sure that the face is available. In other words, if the face is contained within a group or component wrapper, you need to first be in edit component, or edit group mode. Secondly, you might be using the import option for Use as Image, instead of Use as Texture.

  • very useful thanks all

  • I make tiles by creating a new material, then choose a texture of a single tile. I get texture from a producer website and also, name it with its dimensions, for example: tile_name 30x30. So when I add a new material to sketchup, choose this texture, I also set up it's dimension to 30 x 30 cm. After that I'm sure the material has a correct dimension. I can then paint walls using paint bucket tool.

  • @PelzaK1 that great advice for sure! We did the same thing when creating the Oceanside Glass Tile and Mandala Tile texture libraries on the 3D Warehouse. All of which are at the correct default scale.

  • @4sketchupgo2school unfortunately, not everyone know about dimensioning in sketchup, it's very easy. But many times I get models form warehouse it has inproper scale. For example, the chair is 100 times bigger than my whole apartment :). It's anoying.

  • Is he wearing trousers?

  • @bobindersmiff perhaps. are you?

  • DAMMIT! I have been doing THIS the hard way forEVER

  • there's a little checkbox for 'perspective' in the top toolbar in PSD. the checkbox shows up if/when you've selected the initial area with the crop tool. if the perspective option is checked on you can move the corners. you don't have to press any modifier keys on the keyboard.

  • What keys do I have to push at 04:02 , that the selected texture will not be deformed. I only want that the selection frame will be deformed like in this tutorial. I use actually CS4.

    Thanks for your help.
