Steve Jones was heavily influenced by Johnny Thunders both sound and style, and it really shows on this track when you listen to Going Steady by Thunders, even the drum intro is exactly the same

@atomic116090 The bass was plugged in becasue the shows were notorious for being bad, they were more like actors than musicians, but Sid also snag and released three singles and if he wouldn't have killed himself Malcom was thinking of making him the new singer for the Sex Pistols and releasing an album with him on vocals, which would've been really awsome.

@Belosus Fact is Sid couldn't play bass at all, and when Glen Matlock departed the band was already doomed to fail, which eventually also happened. This is what I call the Guevara-syndrome, young people who idolize Che Guevara cannot accept the fact that the scumbag actually turned to be a cold blooded killing terrorist, these youngsters still reject the truth. The same thing happens with Sid Vicious, he never was a successful musician, yet people idolize him like he was fucking Jesus...

@atomic116090 I never said Sid could play bass, but I listened to the songs that he SANG on and I thought he had a really great voice. I agree with what your saying about people idolizing him for no reason, but when Sid joined the Sex Pistols he tried really hard to learn how to play the bass because the band was really important to him, and if you watch videos of the last live show they did you can see that at the end of the Sex Pistols career he had become a semi-competent bassist.

i read in adam ants book that sid stabbed nancy to death and he died of a drugs overdose. What a bastard and he punched adam ant in the face when he was asleep in his sleeping bag!
