and if god really was so omnipotent couldnt he have found a way to free the hebrews by spilling less blood, not more of it?

First of all, the egyptians werent God's people. the hebrews were. secondly, God hardened Rameses' heart AFTER he made his decision to not let the hebrews go so God's might may be seen of both the egyptians and the hebrews. If God did not do all of this and just let the hebrews go free while the people either thought there was no God or that God has abandoned the people, the hebrews would have not known God for the rest of their lives. Thts why God did this.
