  • Star Trek films have some of the worst acting in history.

  • Star Trek with edited in laugh track is amazing.

  • Gotta love all-purpose technobabble

  • Zephram Cockring

  • "Picards orders get violated more than Counselor Troi...."

    Ooooo....

  • Anti-protons = electrons?

  • @Kousaburo No, anti-protons and electrons are structurally different. Anti-protons like protons are made of quarks whereas electrons are a type of leptons.

  • It was cool to have Al Bundy as Zephran Cochrane

  • what now youtube can not even play the right video FUCK!!!!

  • I think you missed the point that the timeline was already messed up by the borg attack on the compound and the Enterprise crew realized that they were going to have to tell the truth to Cochran to get him back on task. And they do mention that they have a cover story even though they don't mention what that is. So presumably they tell that story to everyone else.

  • There is Star Trek the original series, a campy yet intellectually engaging and positive image of the future, Star Trek the Motion Picture (director's cut - I mean come on, a machine that learns EVERYTHING to be known finds its existence to be empty?) and The Wrath of Khan - the franchise ended after that point.

  • ur just a dick end of

  • @tasty1984 who? RedLetterMedia?

  • Wait, so anyone with a teeny tiny phaser rifle can walk outside the enterprise, fire at the deflector dish and destroy half the ship?

Really? The same deflector dish which get pounded by phaser fire on a weekly basis?

  • @ninjamatic5000 sheilds

  • @ninjamatic5000 LOL, holy crap totally missed that point. Didn't a Jem Hadar ship crash into the lower part of a starship right into the side of the deflector dish. Yet only AFTER 1/2 of the ship hit one of the warp engines did it explode. Man those writers were not paying attention to the action schlock they were writing.

  • Picard could have killed the borg through a virus????

Could the virus mutate perhaps and kill other species?

  • @NonstopRam

It wasn't really a virus. It was like some math problem that the collective would try to solve but never could, and that would like cause them to go insane and blow up or something.

It wasn't like some biological weapon.

  • @NeoDMC Now I get it :P

  • Yeah, that's who you want at mission control, the chick who crashed the Enterprise in the last movie!

  • If the virus is aggressive and trying to harm others then you exterminate it.

  • show picard was designed by the show writers, film picard was designed by patrick stewart

  • "out of thin air?" Otherwise known as "replicators," a Star Trek staple since the 60's, not that moron reviewer here can be bothered to pay attention.

  • yeah, the movies are not consistent with the show, so what..Picard is a badass in this flick, and yeah it's basically just a big dumb sci-fi action movie...it's still good enough for me

  • 8:59 wait woah woah. why the fuck is there a hydroponics sector on the enterprise? does anyone even know what hydroponics is? its growng plants on water. does anyone wanna explain to me why they need hydroponics on the enterprise

  • @GoHawkeyes15 Before (on ENT and TOS), the hydroponics bay helped grow food for the ship. That's not necessary in the 24th century due to replicators. Since the Enterprise-E is still a diplomatic ship, I think the hydroponics labs are used to create and maintain non-replicated foodstuffs for guests and dignitaries who can't or won't use the replicator.

Voyager didn't have a hydroponics bay (until they made one), so it's not like it's a standard thing. Just seen on the flagships and DS9.

  • Wow. You really managed to make what I thought was the best TNG movie look like an absolute pile of dung. The dissection of tv show vs. movie Picard is spot on.

  • @talkinghead80 Yeah, but even with the contradictory characterizations of Picard, it's still better than the other three.

  • I thought Youtube couldn't get any worse than it currently is, but now they have a new HTML5 player that takes two decades to load.

  • 9:34 LOOL

  • i fuckin hate these new youtube players. they load like shit

  • 5 seconds later..

  • Picard's anger here is understandable. Not since The Best of Both Worlds had he encountered the Borg on this scale, and they were attempting to destroy the human race, the Federation, and his own starship, which he felt responsible for. I, Borg was different, as Hugh wasn't acting as hostile or malevolent as the Borg do here. The Borg here show no signs of humanity, while Geordi brought out the good in Hugh.

  • I'm enjoying this. Sometimes I think they use unfamiliar words just so that it makes it seem real and couldn't possibly be. Whose going to grab a dictionary while watching a movie??

  • (03:50) I love that part!

  • I LOL' d at 1:42

  • "There's a lot of moments in this MOVY" - gets me every time.

  • That's right honey-pie, work that business.........

  • I love most of Plinkett's reviews but this and Generations seem more nit-picky than others. It seems to poke holes in the film but most of those holes are easy to fix. Stuff like, the Vulcans did not detect the phoenix, but rather the warp signatures. Also it has been established that sensors were not advanced, a gravitational field could hide a ship. Maybe Picard cannot get to a shuttlecraft because all the systems were locked, including the ones that operate shuttle doors and docking clamps

  • @LordEvan88 Yeah, they're more nitpicky, because the films AREN'T AS GODDAMN BAD. Unlike the Star Wars prequels the flaws in these films don't make them completely unwatchable with a straight face.

  • @LordEvan88 I agree that these reviews are more nitpicky than his Nemesis, Insurrection, or Star Wars prequel reviews, but Generations was a dumb as hell movie.

  • Which episode is 5:40 from?

  • It's intriguing to think that with this film the federation now has the ability to time travel at any moment they like.

  • WHO DAT HO?

  • Did anyone really find that Cockring character believable?

He just came off as someone who'd be a plumber or some other kind of blue collar worker, not some brilliant engineer. And they really had the equipment in that seedy camp to build the first light speed ship?

    I call bullshit.

  • (5:07) Which episode is that?

  • Actually, they did know the rocket was damaged because that woman got radiation poisoning.

  • I'm not entirely sure why, but what Picard says in that demonic voice at 4:22 cracks me the fuck up. Especially since you made an awesome comparison.

  • Linkara calls Superman from Superman At Earths End "Bearded Idiot", and Batman from ASB&R "Crazy Steve". This has inspired me to call the TNG films Picard "Bald Dumbass".

  • @GoldmansNephew Plinkett calls him "Larry"

I call Obi-Wan in the prequel movies "Dave"

Oh wow Dave jumped out of a million story window. There goes Dave, bragging about killing things again, just like Master Frank would have taught him.

  • This is all good. But Movie Picard would kill Bin Laden, but TV Picard might have had Earl Grey tea with him.

  • 3:21 - this bitch = 24th century Tea Party

  • Always hated Generations and First Contact, and now I have concrete reasons to back it up.

  • 9:57 ahhh whatever. LOL

  • The one liner explanations always got to me as well. The worst was how easily they could "recreate the vortex". So what? Now they know how to time travel all over the place?

  • I can never watch these movie the same again. LMFAO!!!! These are hilarious. Nothing funner than his Insurrection review.

  • 5:06 - 5:10 can someone tell me what episode that's from?

  • @romeobravo78 Lessons Season 6 Episode 19. Picard is trying to convince Riker to join him in a fencing match.

  • ''Mr. Worf! Quantum torpedoes!''

    ''Ready, sir!

    ''Fire!''

  • 1) The moons graviational... blah blah blah... has it occured to you that perhaps they had MOVED THE SHIP CLOSER TO THE MOON TO HIDE

    2) They could get the escape pods back long before the vulcans turned up after it was clear the ship was out of danger. Movies do not occur in real time ffs, time passes BETWEEN SCENES.

  • This should be sent to Patrick Stewart. I'm sure he'd get a kick out of it.

  • @Brockhad And if not, i'm sure he's gonna "make them PAY!!!" :-)

  • worf shot away from the dish not toward, he's a freakin kligon, he's going to be like a sniper with a phaser.

  • warp signature....NOT IMPULSE SIGNATURE! THEY CAME IN AROUND THE MOON....SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • they had to convince them to do the launch, and yes they showed the copilots were dead. picard was affected by the borg to hate them, the theme or revenge and allegory to moby dick was essential to the film. picard was being plauged by nightmares of the borg and the death of starfleet officers, eventually leading him to his now violent nature in reference the borg. keep in mind i'm only looking at this film. The others have no baring, and men can change over time.

  • "I will make them PAY for what they've done!!!!!!"

I love the voice modification for that line, especially the second time :-)))

  • What?

  • i haven't seen any of these Star Trek movies but i might just to see how bad they are. Zephran Cockring looks like a pedophile about to rocket himself to thailand btw

  • Troi is qualified because she passed the Commander's test later in the series. I know this is just a character doing the reviews and not a real person but the Troi bashing gets to me...

  • The episode the drumhead was on last night. 1 hour of tv better than 4 movies. The features could have used a little tension, but I don't blame them for hamming it up after playing the same characters for 7 years

  • what a shame he doesn't make any more of those reviews

  • @Accisma That was a very long time ago. Picard had years to change his mind about the Borg.

  • OK, first about Councelor Troi being able to take part in the command-center of the pheonix project. You do now! that she has quite a knowledge about spacetraveling and certain advanced spaceship technologies from the 24th century!? There was even a TNG episode in which she studied many technical things to reach a higher rank. About Picard, i have to agree for the most part. He changed dramatically! in the movies. Maybe to much, even if it makes sense to a certain degree(borg episodes)Still cool

  • "We're not hunters Doctor, nor is it our role to exact revenge"

"And I shall make them PAY!!"

I love that comparison, it just tears the film apart...

  • @Bagrah10 The difference between the tv show and the movie was about a decade. That's a lot of time for a guy's opinions on life to change.

  • LMAO he called him Cock ring at 130 great shit.

  • All your opinions on Picard, i think, are a bit off. He was ultimately changed by the borg in " Best of both worlds". He got a bit more brash and he grew a pair. He still had his ethics and code of morality. But when it came to the Borg, he had an insight only a person who had been so violently violated could have. Simular to a rape victim, he had a distain towerd his attackers. They took his humanity, his power.

  • Thats right hunny pie, work that business , LOL

  • Oh my god, it'd be hilarious if you did the Star Trek reviews, altering every line of Picard's into the I'LL MAKE THEM PAY voice!

  • i love it when he makes picard sound like a demon

  • Okay, at 9:40, Hawk said "Full Power", Picard clearly was not firing at full power.

  • "Zefren Cockring" cracked me up!

  • God I didn't even notice half these things. You ruined the movie for me now!.... but in a good way. :D

  • Start buildin' ma statue.

  • This is perfect

  • Piccard is an idiot. The Borg are a menace that's wiping out entire species. There was no moral quandary there. Twat. Maybe that's why I could never get into the Next Gen.

  • @DejectedPanda or maybe you are the twat who is so fucking afraid to die. that's always behind such violent tendencies

  • Nah, you wanna see his Phantom menace Star wars review, they`re the best!

  • this, without any flattery, is the best review I ever saw youtube, of ANYTHING! it's so insightful and so funny haha. congrats and thanks.

  • I almost gave up on Trek - then I saw this - you rock!

  • The demonic Picard voice was the best touch LOL!

  • I only just realized he calls Cochrane "Cock ring" ^^''

  • The deflector dish is only the inner circle which was unplugged and destroyed by Worf....

  • Get some help- sincerely.

  • when you take things out of context, a good movie can go bad.

  • Who Dat Ho?

  • Buddy ? get your one eyed snake in your hands but please stop fucking up good films like this one

  • HAHAHAHA

  • I WILL MAKE THEM PAY!!

  • You are funny sir. "wear period clothing ,yet tell everyone LOL, awesome!!

You and my friend should have a discussion on continuity, hilarity would insue.

  • so true but this movie rocked

  • Since when was the deflector not a VITAL SYSTEM???? O_o

  • Yo redletter Lt Hawk said "if we set our phasers 2 full power" maybe Picard didn't have his set @ full power.

  • Where is part 1?

  • As odd as it sounds I am not sure how they could have made this film better. They couldn't as you said earlier done another Best of Both Worlds and what they did with the Borg Queen was controversial but actually worked for the film as it gave the Borg a voice and didn't make them seem like mean-less zombies.

Having Picard all mad wasn't a big problem for me because he had some bad experiences. The only thing is that the film when all is said an done is an average action movie.

  • I dont think the borg are actually capable of cognitive thought as that would make them individual and they are a hivemind

  • TV Show Picard: [Calm, rational tone] "We're not hunters, doctor. Nor is it our role to exact revenge."

Film Picard: [Seething with rage] "I WILL MAKE THEM PAY FOR WHAT THEY'VE DONE!"

  • Picard is a hippy. A pretty-sounding hippy.

  • This was the film that introduced the pulse phaser rifle. One of the unique things about the phaser is Star Trek was its utility. It had tons of settings: it could, stun, delicately cut, heat up objects, and kill or vaporize people. It would be logical even for scientists to carry phasers, they are extremely useful, both in and outside of combat. What did the pulse phaser rifle do? It was just a combat weapon, no other utility. Just another example of TNG's descent into lame action films.

  • 5:36

    CAMEL TOEEEEEEEE

  • If you want to see part 1 and keep complaining about where it is then go to the main website where this came from instead, it isn't even split into different parts too.

Thumbs up so idiots can see

  • You also forgot that the Borg changed the temp to 39 degrees to make it the same as a Borg ship. Also when Enterprise crew members beamed over to the CUBE in previous episodes there was air to breathe yet several of the Borg are walking around outside in space.

  • where is part 1???!!!!!

  • lol he sounds possessed when he says he'll make them pay

  • Comment removed

  • "...In fact, Picard's Order get violated more often than Counselor Troy..."

I really had to laugh at that one.

  • Thats right Honey Pie work that Business! hahaha this guy is Priceless... couldn't think of a better breakdown of the movie.. Mr. Plinket Rocks

  • where the fuck is part 1 ?!!

ya know, when ya see the suttle takin off...how far back ya gotta be... ahh i could be wrong

  • Genius!

  • Wait, wait... Wait. You made a 40 minute review of a 111 minute movie? What the fuck is wrong with you?

  • man, im just about to fall asleep just from watching this. is there any way to talk even more sleepy and slow than you?

  • @builder397 If you have a sense of humor the laughter should wake you up. ;)

  • Zef could just say he didn't know were they went (the 2 copilots), if others suspected foul play then that would change future outcomes.

  • see entire edition with the following film right here on a=v=a=t=z.net remove =

  • Youtube took down part 1?!

EYE will make them PAY for what they've done! 3:49

  • what happened to part one?

  • @FFoocckkaa it can be seen ad red letters website

  • @FFoocckkaa

Oh, it doesn't matter, as long as you... Ch-ch-ch-ch- pop!

  • @FFoocckkaa I just watched it

  • @FFoocckkaa it's back

  • I think youtube removed part 1 for some reason. You know these moderators, they are fuckin trolls.

  • @bbhaver probably had something to do with paramount that dont explain it tho why part on and not the rest hmmm lol

  • @bbhaver it's back

  • Which episode is the scene at 5:06 from? Or is it an outtake?

  • @Koshiro2k3 Season 6 "Lessons"

  • The full review is in his web page...

  • Where's part one?

  • @molluskweddin Yeah, where?

  • Im tell my grand kids about this and there going to tell their friends at school and its going to fuck everything up...........hahahahahah

  • WHERES PART 1 IT WAS HERE WHEN I FIRST WATCHED THIS WHAT THE HELL DUDE?

  • LMFAO DEMON PICARD 3:50

  • FAQ: Where's part one of this review? PART ONE!!! WHERE THE FUCK IS IT, HOSER? HOW MANY FUCKIN' PEOPLE GOTTA ASK THIS FUCKIN' QUESTION BEFORE YOU PUT DOWN THE FUCKIN' PIZZA ROLLS AND DIG THROUGH THE DEAD BODIES IN YOUR BASETAMENT AND FIND THE FUCKIN' THING, YOU FUCKIN' FUCK HOSER FUCK!!! Thank you in advance for your efforts in correcting this problem. :-)

  • I know why Picard is a nice guy in the show and a douche bag in the films. He probably, at that point, is so old he just doesn't give a rat's ass if he's an enlightened intelecual or not. He just wants to get shit over with and retire.

  • where the hells part 1????

  • "but one thing military orders aren't, is still sexy after forty five." *slide whistle sound effect* - ive seen pretty much every review this guy's done, and never laughed as hard as i did with that one.

  • How come no part 1?

  • If the borg are half human or human-like creatures, why don´t they need oxyygen? How can they walk around in space and not freeze? Or blow up due to the change in pressure? Or have their eye balls still in their head? Wouldn´t the body be destroyed while out in space??

  • Zephram Cockring. LOL

  • Funny Stuff. GLad you don't have the whole side-story about the basement and the killing women and blah, blah, blah. The review is all we need ;-)

    Where is part 1?

    ~Trav

  • @sivartis Yeah I'm also looking for part 1

  • @FoggyFishburne

It's on private for some reason. I'd guess copyright, but all the other vids have clips, too?

    ~Trav

  • @sivartis Probably. That makes me sadface

  • You sound just like the suicidal shop teacher from the show South Park.

You also would not know good story telling if it bit you on the _____(fill in the blank) Anyone who was in an earth quake will tell you buildings can have damage without showing obvious damage. Everything you point out is either the proverbia counting rocks, or is explained earlier or later in the movie. Just say you don't like TNG movies because there is no Kirk and be done with it.

  • 9:32 they didn't fire the deflector. The part worf blows up is the deflector

  • But one thing military orders aren't is sexy after 45 *comedy whistle* LOOOL

  • Mr. Plinkett, Picard's contradictory characteristics were the whole point of ST:FC. His hypocrisy is even pointed out and made an issue by other characters, as it was openly at odds with the "other" Picard you're talking about. Honestly, you seem to be nitpicking.

  • the tv show picard - lets call him larry ...

  • I guess what I'm saying is that its harder to keep your objectivity and principles when you are dealing with a species that basically raped your mind and body, turned you into a weapon to use against your people, and then some years later comes BACK and tries to unmake your entire history and then starts ripping apart your ship block by block. Granted, Picard deals with his emotions more violently here than in the series, but they were always present.

  • In regards to Picard and the Borg, bear in mind that the episode that introduces Hue involved Picard at fist being entirely willing to use Hue as a weapon for genocide. In the end, it was only after he was convinced that Hue had developed his own personality- e.g. that he had become more than a Borg, that Picard nixed the plan. I got the impression it was for Hue's sake, not the Borg as a collective.

  • "It doesn't matter as long as you tchik tchik chik...." fucking genius!!!

  • Well, to be fair, Troy did say, "I told him our cover story, he didn't believe me." So there goes the ol' Temporal Prime Directive. What have they to lose?

And those guys in the silo wouldn't have gone all, "Who's this chick?" All of them were Enterprise crew since all of Cochrane's crew who didn't die in the bombardment, like Lily, got radiation poisoning from the leaking plasma manifold. Troy can do Mission Control, no problem. She already got Bridge-qualified on the Enterprise back in TNG.

  • ya NOT killing the borg was REALLY FUCKING STUPID.

  • LOOOL XD

  • You said earlier that Picard had no noteworthy reasons to be uninvited to a fight with the Borg, but this part of the review is littered with them.

  • picard screaming like a madman made me lose it

  • I wished RLM pointed out the future BISON @ 9:05.
