The line in this song "Don't a woman need a man try and catch one if you can!" makes me think about all the ignored people who try to reach out and find a special person that can make & fill their empty void of their life only people don't communicate with any kind effort in return due to lack of consideration for others feelings.
MIGHTY MIGHTY MIGHTY! how'd they get everything on this track to sound so monumental? glad I've got a belt on or it would have blown my strides across the room
@7836200 I don t agree, I think their last three albums are even better than the seventies that are already magnificent. Best band ever I think. Du you know the other versions of My o My?
Its too bad there aren't really any bands out there now that can perform half as good as Slade. Not only were they talented, but very diverse in the musical styles they put out. I wish they'd make a comeback in the US. I would take my kids to see what I grew up on.
the chicks you dated liked this song jkofrop? you're a lucky one. when i graduated in 88 they were all into poison, def leppard, europe and shit like that.
why is slade always passed over when people talk about the great english groups of the 60's and 70's? they were one of the better ones. yet everyone always forgets about them. a shame really.
you are so right mate and they sold an amazing number of records...the top selling glam rock group of the seventies..they are not recognised as great along with the Sweet and T rex
slade is only recognized by most americans because quiet riot did a subpar cover of two of their songs and made them into top 50 hits. before those covers, the average person had forgotten just how good slade really was or didn't even know. they have never recieved the recognition they deserved as a truly good band.
It was funny when I was telling my son, Hey Slade did this first, he was surprised. Slade is considered glam because of the outfits they wore, but I did not see all the make-up that goes along with it.
they did wear some strange outfits didn't they. kind of laid the ground work for some of the 'glam' rock we all had to put up with in the eighties. but that was looks only, musically they were never glam.
i guess to me, glam was more then just makeup. it was clothes, makeup, hair, pretty boy lead singer, and musical style. which now that i think about it, would mostly eliminate slade from most glam comparisions. at least in my mind.except for their outfits.
Such a Awsome song. I am from the late 60s 70s.A band overlooked by the sell out American Radio. Look for music other places then American CO. Radio!!!
One of the most under-rated ballads of the 80s. An all-time favorite of mine.....dreadfully miss MY MTV, back when they played videos! Thanks a million for posting this! I think I'll dig out my copy of "Get Your Hands Off My Power Supply" and rock out some more. Cheers, TEKNO
I can't dislike them because of something stupid that my sister did. Noddy was a History Teacher so he should have known better, birthday present or not!
Frank, Jim's brother brought his band down to London when my sister was living there. I have the pictures and I was wondering how to post them along with music.
i'm from the U.S.A. I'll probably never get what they're all about but that is an awesome, beautiful powerful number. That guitar playing was intense and powerful, just too beyond words.
When the truck goes across the field with the lights flashing it always reminds me of the Dialog sequence in Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. Even the way guitar elaborates on the 5 note "Hello"
Their songs were great, too bad Quiet Riot had to take credit for most of them.

'How Does It Feel?' is the best track Slade every produced. It fit in really well with the film 'Flame'. Early Slade is better than late Slade.
