@epicfantasy I think you'd really enjoy it and be good at it. You might enjoy the Museum's Fantasy Forest. We just put up a video called Miniature Fantasy Forest.
i know this migth be annoying qustion i wanna sculpt these figures they have no remblance to any famus figures and i want to sell them do i need a linces
First off all , nice tutorials. Secondly I have some scuplting experience and lots of painting experience. Although instead of the usual small scale i'd like to make something bigger. For which using procreate is a bit to expensive. Is super sculpey the best thing to use for that , or would you recommend something else ?
yeah they work brilliently, i tryed to put a link up to the page but youtube wouldnt let me. if you just typr "usb microscope" into google you should find one. you'll never use the full 400x zoom but its very cool to look at things that closely. my favourate is the back of your hand, you can see the skin cells! also it dosent get in your way quite so much as a magnifying glass, its also sort or a less distorted view than a magnifying glass.
hello there mate, just been watching your videos and i think there excellent. heres a brillient little tool i use on my mniatures it perfect for real fine detail its a usb microscope 400x magnification, you've probably seen em before but if not it could be a new toy foy ya. take it easy mate
Ive ben watching some of your videos you show up projects that are simular to what ive ben working with but iam only like 14-15 years old so i dont have so much resourcrs however. YOU got a new subscriber
@ishouldplayzelda no no, you can get much better. It's just like anything else, The more you practice the better you get. You should have seen my first ones. Came out not very good. My latest ones, Jack, the Giant, and the Beanstalk are pretty good. Just keep practicing!
Not that this guy doesn't have talent, and not that he isn't offering us free information, but It's always bothered me when people say "drawring" it makes me shudder a bit.
I am an american now living in the UK, i am very familiar with sculpting, but never have done any miniatures. but have been longing to do so. looking to get into pro work with the good folks at Citedel Miniatures. you know the WARHAMMER people. i will be coming here to learn from your vids, thank you for making them. very helpful..
i have things sort of like glasses but they have magnifying lenses in them that are much more powerful than glasses... my dad uses them for his dental work.. maybe i could use that?
Oh nice thanks for the info (even toothpicks and pins) that way i can really start making my OWN miniature (how i imagine myself, fighting a dragon :) ) And i will probabjy replace the FIRM with ordinary clay, i think it will work OK. Anyway, thx :))
Do you think i can do without the FIRM ( i cant get it in stores and im not allowed to purchase online) do you think i can use something instead (preffered easy-to-get material) And i cant get the accsesories eather do you think i can use something instead?
I use the sculpey firm to start making larger miniatures. So you can replace this with anything. It is so you can practice sculpting. And for tools you can just improvise just about anything - even toothpicks and pins.
Depends on what kind of clay. Sculpey is very firm and takes detail and sculpting very well. Good choice for sculpting if you want it to be firm, yet workable, and get good detail.
Depends on the scale of the miniature I make. For the smallest/best detailed miniatures I use either ProCreate or GreenStuff. For larger ones and for practice I use Cernite or Super Sculpey.

You absolutely and positively can get real good at sculpting! It's just a matter of practice and being persistent. Keep doing it and do more of them. You will see how you get better. And have fun, dont let it get you down!!
Thanks for the tutorial sadly i need to watch this several times because my english listening isn't good, by the way i want to see some of your sculpts if possible thanks!
Have you made a video on how to replicate your miniatures. I watched all the videos on them. I will probably watch the painting videos online now. I cant wait to get the plato, super sculpy, and pro create to make some miniatures. Thank you for the videos.
Yes, absollutely. You should draw it out a lot and from different angles. this will help your brain to visualize it in three dimensions. Makes the sculpting much easier and makes you more skilled as a sculptor.
Dude......How comes you're so awesome?! I love arts and crafts and have been creating mess all over the house ^^ Once I had a whole room with drawings and paintings statues and figures, costumes all amde by me ^^ I think you are great man, subscribed... Could you show us how to make figures of a larger scale and that could move their joints? Awesomeness ^^
now i have a card game (magic the gathering) and id like to take one of the cards and make it into a miniature. Should i still get the feel and sketch the card?
Absolutely! Sketch it a lot. And just do some fast sculptures with play doh. Just to get a sense in your mind of what it look like in 3d. It takes some practice. But have fun with it. Sounds like a great idea, some of the Magic the Gathering cards are amazing.
Hi! I sure have, and lots of people really are passionate about warhammer. I will be doing a diorama / game table for it at some point. Although I don't play it I really like th dioramas and miniatures for warhammer.
This tutorial is going to be very interesting, I have been interested in fantasy miniatures for quite a while now and being able to create my own would be amazing.
Thanks! Got lots more coming. Next installment coming soon, probably doing a quick tutorial on armature maing, then doing the 3" miniature with Super Sculpey.
Looks to be a promising series. I'm not much of a sculptor, my brother does a lot more of that, I mainly do scenery. Keeping my eyes peeled for the next installment!

@1234xxlegoboy If you create figures out of your own imagination then you can sell them any way you like! No license is needed.
epicfantasy 2 months ago
@epicfantasy so you need a license to sell figures from say, a game or a movie right?
VioletStar1700 3 weeks ago
@VioletStar1700 yes, thats right. You can make them for yourself but you can't sell them.

Good idea to start with childeren's clay. I saw the price of the professional clay and indeed it is not something you want to waste on practice o_O
