Yes Steve Reich is there, as is Keith Jarrett and Ligeti, but John Adams is probably the major influence in this piece. Not that that is a bad thing in itself ! Could somebody post the other pieces in this extended cycle - this music needs to be heard, and videos as good as this are one way of promoting T. A.'s wonderfully evocative compositions.
I hear some Steve Reich in there. Those interlocking pianos in the beginning are fascinating. Very Reichian and beautiful. Love the modality at times too! I'l so buying this CD.
