Just tuned into this. As you've never heard of it, you should watch some footage of the 125th anniversary of the founding of the GAA. It was amazing. Really, never heard of it!!, ask all the millions of Irish in your country!!It is now played in dozens of countries, Sweden, Dubai, Germany, France, etc. Also read some of Irelands history and legends, Chuchulain and Fionn, etc!!

nobody heard of the sport because the irish never fucking succed in anything .i love the sport.for the second all ireland championship in 1888 we went to america trying to promote the sport and falied therefore there was no final that year.i gurantee you if that was america trying to promote the sport back then we would be playing it right now.

yes to a large degree but the point i am making is that the americans seem to think they are the centre of the universe, which they are not, world series of baseball with only american teams? Thats no world series...i do agree though that the GAA have been very lacklustre in promoting our sports outside of Ireland.

The World Series only refers to the MLB final. It was once sponsored by a newspaper called the New York World, but the name stuck.

@ourdaywillcome85 Maybe for the news Anchor, but then again they're stuck in the studio majority of the time :D I'm an American, never been outside the US, but HAVE heard of Hurling, Gaelic Football, Association Football - what we call Soccer for whatever reason. While I'm not too familiar with Gaelic Football or Hurling, I've gotten to know Australian Rules Football and that seems fun. GF and Hurling seems fun.

3000 years and never heard of it his last comment.....if you come to Ireland its played in all 32 counties and is one of the biggest sports there is. without doubt the most skillful sport in the world...watch some of the clips from irish matches and you'll see its true skill
