If you didn't stay to watch the rest of the performances, then how could you possibly know that they should have beaten them? As a matter of fact, have you even seen the show this year, or even know what it's called?

Actually I was using a pro-quality mic (A "Rode Stereo VideoMic") and had the audio level set manually on the camera. Sadly, that's a double edged sword. A DVD or BlueRay of this video sounds AWESOME, with excellent dynamics. Sadly, when it's converted to this low of a bit-rate, those wide dynamics get somewhat lost. I'm new to youtube uploading. I think I've figured out how to upload an HD version of it. *That* ought to sound great!
actually lafayette doesn't get special treatment at all, the judges,if you happened to look at them, are mainly form the mid-west if i recall correctly. lafayette is just that damn good. I, as a member of FHS, am proud to say I competed against such a spectacular band.

I liked the show well enough, but FHS's show was more creative by far. For years, bands come to this competition knowing LHS will take 1st, so 2nd place is really 1st. And it's not about talent 8 years in a row. Call it like it is. All the bands were great, but in fairness, Fontainebleau got ripped for a second year.

Well at the beginning of their show the announcer said "we are proud to present" and got the crowd all excited and stuff, after we put on a show that got us class AA champs and he got our name wrong. I think LHS deserved a win for sure. It was just how they were presented that got to me.
fettup, if you actually knew anything about marching band, you would know that uyou are allowed to play before the announcement, you just don't get judged. It's called a pre-show and it is basically a stretch and warm-up before the announcement. And LHS actually does march and play, you should go watch the video closely. And once again, it's not about the creativity level, it's how your perform it in the end.
Ok so your drum major (I believe it was him, ask him) came up to me after we performed and said, "Please just shake my hand!!!" I was in shock at first and just froze because I didn't understand what was going on. Then he was saying how he loved our show and such and then I was telling him how I was the one with the wings stuff. If you will, please do me a favor and thank him for me. FHS was more creative, but from what I could see, it did seem a bit messy.
I think you're just being paranoid. You need talent, and whether you think so or not, LHS has it.
