in the uk we elected a man who campaigned on not increasing tuition fees and who subsequently voted to do so anyway. Fees are now set to increase to £9000 next year. I don't know about over in Canada but here there is no way to effectively hold our leaders to their manifesto or to account. We need change, but not the kind Obama promised and never delivered on. We need a new voting system, and more power as citizens to make them listen. no vote is still a vote.

Do you really think all registered political partys should have a chance at the debates? Have a look at the California Govenors race of the past. Over 130 people were on the ballot, the likes of , Adult Film Actress, Entertainers, Retired Meatpacker. My point is We know were we draw the line. It is unfortunate that May doesnt do better.

@3101010 There is no debate here! You are comparing fringe parties to an official national party. Mairjuana Party in 2008: 8 candidates, 0.02% of popular vote. Rhinoceros Party in 2008: 7 candidates, 0.02% of popular vote. Green Party in 2008: 303 candidates, 6.8% of popular vote (941,097 in favour). The numbers speak for themselves.

@3101010 Your justification was to not allow the GPC in because the Marijuana Party and Rhino Party shouldn't be allowed in. I showed you the numbers and these parties are obviously not anywhere close to one another. The 6.8% may not be good enough for you, but it is good enough for Elections Canada to determine they are an official national party. That's good enough for me, as well as for the 81% of other Canadians who wanted her in the debates.

I did not go from 81% to 48%...I showed you numerous varying examples of all Canadians overwhelmingly supporting someone who apparently shouldn't be included due to only having 6.8% of the popular vote. @dabomb1357 Well perhaps I should explain why I am going to vote conservative then. Essentially it comes down to which party will produce the least negative consequences if elected. For me, freedom is of the utmost importance, and so if I had a choice, I would vote libertarian (no one running here). Conservatives at least seem to have some respect for individual rights. Liberals and NDP seem to want to expand government control over every aspect of individual citizens life. Vote for Freedom.

@larrydallas187 Their is not a libertarian party member running in my area, and I can not afford to move mate. I have no problem with screening at rallies (it is their rallies, they will just loose potential supporters). Liberals also prorogued parliament. G20 summit shows the poor response of police officers, not politicians. If I was worried that they would touch abortion or gay rights I would not vote for them, but that would be political suicide and harper knows it.

@larrydallas187 I find that liberals and NDP seem to want to control more aspects of our life and raise taxes to meet the demand of an ever increasing government. I do wish marijuana would be legalized, as well as all drugs. However, as long as we have a public health care system it will be difficult to justify absolute freedom in these respects, since what you do affects your impact on the public health care system (which we all pay to support). First of all, perhaps you should double check your facts. I am not claiming that there IS a party for everyone, but that many people are misinformed for what each party actually stands for.
Secondly, if you are still unsatisfied with the results, SPOIL YOUR BALLOT. Let the government know you are not being represented. Let them know that Canadians want more choices in their politics. Silence does absolutely nothing.
