@Janoise. According to page 22 of the Dark Energy manual, (7) Arpeggiator. Dark Energy features an internal arpeggiator. An arpeggiator splits the notes of a sustained chord into asuccessive pattern of single notes. In music, splitting chords into a pattern of successive pitches is generally called arpeggio. Dark Energy‘s arpeggiator makes use of the following parameters: Tempo, Direction, Playback Mode."
I'm been contemplating on getting a Doepfer DE. Would you recommend it over other synths in the same price range (eg a Blofeld or Tetra or even a Juno 106)?
The modularity of it really intrigues me, plus it's pure analog! Any chance of more vids of this little beast coming from you soon?
IMO the dark energy is great if you want to start a modular as its got all the basics: vco, vcf, lfos, patchability + a usb/midi/CV interface! It seems like a great deal in that context.
@duncanperson the DE is my only synth so far, and i LOVE IT! it is completely awesome. It is a big source of inspiration, its so easy to use. And as you say, it has a complete midi>cv/gate converter built in to continue building from it. And thats what i am going to do. Buy a rack flight case and start building around the DE. (start with a second VCO, sample and hold, second envelope and noise generator)
is this using the Dark Energy's arpeggiator??

@pixusbubblejet
The Dark Energy has NO arp.
I use the Arp of a Access Polar TI.
You can see this briefly in the video.

It depends of what you want to do.
The blofeld has a incredible sound and a lot of sounds and possibilities.
But the blofeld i had ,had a lot of problems with the os. maybe now its better with the new os.
I you want a analog synth the Juno is a very good choice.
Its cheap and has 127 storage patches.
I lke the sound but its a bit limited in possibilities. The Doepfer is more a freakbox and nice to have if you have other synths as well.
If the blofeld works proberly, its mine choice.

I have a mopho and the sound is amazing!
I can only asume how fat the Tetra is.
The specs a very good from the Tetra.
I really like analog sounds and the Mopho is fat like hell.
The only thing i dislike is this terrible little knobs,
but the Tetra has bigger and better knobs.
So you get some hard thinking to do.
If you only want to have 1 synth go for the Tetra or Blofeld.
because those synth has a lot of storage for your sounds.
Try Those synths or any synths before you buy.
