  • I had this on casette and drove over 12 hours to my worksite from Winnipeg to N Manitoba, my sound system costed more than the car, but honestly it was like the soundtrack to my life, long lonely ride, wouldnt trade it for the world, makes me happy and sad at the same time

  • Awesome tune...love it!!

  • For some weird reason-this tune seems to the ultimate 80's song-it has that real eighties feel & sound to it like no other of that time. IMO. :) Happy New Year Everyone!! :)

  • Siiiiiick Track!

  • I have this on vinyl...great tune and lots of memories for a 53 year old...!

  • One of my favourite songs of the 80s without question! Just amazing!

  • I remember when my older sister gave me a Strange Advance music tape for Christmas, I liked the songs. I miss watching Video Hits too.

  • I would rather shave my head with a cheese grater while chewing on broken glass then see one more F#^%IN chuck norris wow comercial.

  • I'm so glad that I grew up in the 80s. Hey dose anyone remember "Good Rockin Tonight". It aired Friday nights on the CBC. Terry David Mulligan hosted it.

  • @MrEdmontonman Ha I was just thinking of that show and then I scrolled down and seen you mention it, we would watch that if we werent out drinking underage

  • VIDEO HITS with samantha taylor!!! LOL...OMG i remember her!!

im 41 and i use too run home too watch her after school at 3:30 on CBC winnipeg :P

  • At this point in time Canada had so MANY excellent bands and song-writers. What happened?

Hip Hop crap that's what!! Shame -People wake up- DEMAND good music! :)

  • man..such good songs in the 80s....keep finding all these coolass hits i heard growing up..i love 80 music..it was a happy place!

  • @malcolm10747 The best days the foundsations of great music and greatness or whatever is left of greatness injected int of legends inherited today.

  • awesome vocals

  • wow the vocals, the voice//// 8 dislikes get real this is the real thing

  • i live in the 80's--its a happy place

  • It's on my all-80s song mp3!

  • Gosh I luv luv this song....true is so nostalgic...80's were good for me in a kind of weird way...which at the time I didn't know better. Now back to listening to this song over and over....

  • Damn...a lifetime ago but i never tire of this decades music, music and life seemed so much easier back then.

  • Damn, we (Canadian's) had some good bands in the 1980's

  • @ajinbc platinum blonde, corey hart, chalk circle, honeymoon suite, the spoons, images in vogue id say we did too :)

  • 1985 was the best and worst of my life.Yeah I know, but unless you almost died only to live out your years in a diminished capacity; don't judge me.

  • I just puked up a leg warmer.....oh gross...it's covered in hairspray. Relax, I'm visiting a time and getting all warm and fuzzy about it. Ontario Place!!! I saw em all. Was the stage rotating or the rest of the world? Parachute pants? what the hell were they thinking? the 80's..........love it or hate it, it does make you feel "that" way.

  • This song sure helped me through my depression-filled teen years, whew!

  • The only bad thing about 80's music is, they aint making it anymore.

  • Some songs are better without a video, lol

  • I turned 20 in 1982 and being at the bars and in the military during the 80's was the best time of my life. The cheap booze on the base sure helped.

  • Great Song...unfortunately cheap production value of the music video makes it look like a Eaton's commercial for Ladies' raincoats

  • @chilliwacked

Are you kidding? This was the experimental age of videos before they all became either mini concerts or epic films. Quirky, bizarre, and honest to the core. I would rather watch an '80's video than a "modern" one myself.

  • @hectorlabbe oh wow! did you ever hit it on the nail ! yes, back to the 80s and Jack Layton as our PM, TFTW!! You certainly think the way i do as well, sooo nice to see we are not alone, eh? LOL if you do Facebook let me know,,us 80s enthusiasts must stick together!

  • another great song from the 80s I wish they made music like this now not sure about the video but I love the music!!

  • I love all this!! what i would love even more..is if all these great new wave videos from the 80s would be digitally remastered!!! they would be a hit all over again:))

  • @MissGoodintentions

I agree with you MissGoodintentions (M)! Great song! I don't remember this one but I like it.

  • @MissGoodintentions

Good Intentions indeed... :) No if they remaster them they will screw them up just like everything else. They can never resist "peeing in the pot". Always they change something. Look at the disaster of Star Trek Remastered.

  • LOL..I hear ya brother..!!. ..ahhh the good ol days..if only we could turn back the clock..!!

  • Funny how back then...life seemed so hard. Here we are many many years later and alot smarter...sometimes wish I could go back!! The 70's and 80's were the time for sure!!

  • essas musicas eram o maximo

  • This was the hardest song to find when I started doing the search because the name, "We Run", isn't at all what you'd think its name is.

  • Thanks for posting this hard to find stuff. I remember their guitar/violin player also working for the very popular Vancouver cover band Juan Trak, and he is really talented. This really takes me back. OMG. And it is a LONG way back. Yikes.

  • I love this song--one of my favourites!

  • I saw these guys open for Platinum blonde in 1985...Great concert!

  • Wow didn't know they're Canadian!

  • Amazing song, cant express how beautiful it is.!

  • I just "Liked" Strange Advance on Facebook!

  • 80,81,82,83,84 the best yrs of my youth, noone cared what you wore, boys looked liked girls, makeup, alot of girls loved it.music was great, the last era of originallaty.

  • those damned mullets :)

  • VIDEO HITS WITH SAMANTHA TAYLOR

  • @slimshadee2008 LOL...OMG i remember her!!

im 41 and i use too run home too watch her after school at 3:30 on CBC winnipeg :P

i want my BMX bak!!! and my BRAND NEW walkman bak that every one at school envied me for :P

  • Very good song, never heard this before in the UK, one thing I really like about 80's new wave/synthpop is the singers voices, they don't sound anything like that in todays music.

  • I'm gonna sit in my room all day, winding my watch back repeatedly and hope I'll walk outside and people will be playing new wave music on their car radios, wearing chic clothing and spending hours on their hair. Please, please, please

  • @HokkaidoNightfire

    i hope so too!!!

80`s were the best time, and i would give a lot to be back there for just one day!

  • @HokkaidoNightfire

XM-sirius does have a great new wave station that provides a little time travel while commuting.

  • Greatest Song! And I am 24 :)

  • to drearyErie ! A time is gone ! But U ( you) keep optimistick !!!!! Keep living of 80'S , it was much more easier ! and fun ! those years were fun ! U never try to turn time back ! It was a nice time !

  • ... bopping around Lake Simcoe, trying to find The Irish House, not really giving a shit.

Then we all get cancer and die, but it was fun.

  • Great song! Great times

  • For the last two hours, I have been listening and watching 80's music and each one brings me back when I was a kid riding my BMX ! I feel so nostalgic and all I want to do is build a city where everything will be just like in the 80's !!! Crazy dream, isn't ? But just like New Order used to sing... Dreams never end !!!! God bless the 80's kids : )

  • @hectorlabbe wow..yes very well said. This song takes me back to grade 6, which is why I wanted to hear it today, with the nostalgic feeling of the last day of school for kids. I would do anything to go back to those years..I'll be the first to visit your 80's city, Mr hectorlabbe :)

  • @musiclibrarygirl Thank you miss ! I'm glad you felt like me and many others : ) If only Strange Advance was back on the road it would be soooo cool ! Did you know Foreigner & Journey will be playing in Toronto this coming august ? Where do you live ? See yaaa

  • @hectorlabbe haha you betcha I'll be there! I've already bought my ticket to see Journey/Foreigner/Night Ranger at Molson Ampitheatre on Aug 9th :) See you there, perhaps?

  • @hectorlabbe Not crazy at all. If you build it, they will come. (I know I would. I feel the same!)

  • @GrapeLola Thanks thats sweet ! You were thinking about Field of Dreams, right ? By the way, do you know were can we find the complete video of Love Games ?

  • @hectorlabbe Build the city and i'll be your first and very permanent resident!!! I would give my life to go back to the 80s, it was the only good time in my life and when they were over a HUGE part of me died,,,Believe me, you are sooo not alone in wanting those days back my friend!

  • @3itchontherise Thank you that is cool to feel that others think the same way ! I imagine going back to the 80's and our Canadian PM would have been Jack Layton : ) Gone to soon, I never met him but he left so much love around him and his farewell letter touched me. We will miss you so much Jack ! Coolest Canadian ever : )

  • @hectorlabbe Send me the address, I'm in! In fact, I'll help build it.

  • @hectorlabbe I dunno about you man, but i gre up in the 80s, and i found the music to be a bunch of super gay shit. So glad the 90s came along and wiped all theis homo crap off the table.

  • @hectorlabbe I do not think a city of the 80s would be so bad - could be no worse than today.

  • @hectorlabbe

I know what you mean, I feel exactly the same way!

  • love this fucking song...finally found out the name of it FINALLY! lol

  • Muchmusic was born in the time of release, you just had to pay for it.

  • A great Canadian band! Great, great, GREAT song. One of my "desert island" songs.

  • Song always makes me think of Samatha Taylor's voice in her CBC video show...."Hi I am Samatha Taylor and on today's show I have Strange Advance, Gowan, Platinum Blonde etc etc etc".....

What a wonderful time to grow up. Now we get to watch Beavis and Butthead on the "video music station". What ever happened to progress..??

  • Man I love the 80s. Too bad I was born in the wrong generation (1995). I love all 80s music so much. I was reading some comments here and everyone keeps talking about what the 80s were like for them god I get so jealous.

Every time I listen to an 80s song I feel nostalgic for some odd reason. I wish I could've lived in the 80s.

  • @SJism23 hey sj, i was in born the 50s and the 80s remain the best decade ever for music in my mind, I mean come on: U2, Depeche Mode, New Order, Pukka Orchestra, Blue Peter, Strange Advance, Duran duran, Martha and the Muffins, Frozen Ghost, Peter Schilling, David Bowie, The Police, The Spoons, Chalk Circle , Eye Eye, Psychedelic furs, bananarama, The motels, Boys Brigade, Gowan....and on and on, incomparable!

  • Child of the 80's! God I loved song, still do.

  • this song take's me back to the goog old day's...1980's rule.

  • I saw these guys downtown Toronto yesterday. Both are bald and very heavy and they were feeding pigeons on a bench in Moss Park. They said they were taking a break after walking miles and miles to the sea.

  • God I love this song!! Remember getting their first album, and listening to it over.. and over... .. and this video - been trying to get a good copy for years! Oh I thought they were HOT.....

  • 7 people dont like to run

  • great tune but the video deserves a fromage award

  • ...........On "Video Hits" today we got Prince, Corey Hart, Honeymoon Suite and Strange Advance.

  • ...........On "Video Hits" today we got Prince, Corey Hart, Honeymoon Suite and Strange Advince.

  • Back then everyone was white and beautiful, music was beautiful. Too bad it's all gone now!

  • @KLVANBC thats kind of cold "white" and beautiful... comon man thats a bit harsh

  • drearyerie..think i love you..you just wrote my life except i was 15 in 85"..LOVE the 80 the BEST

  • Living in Buffalo. NY, I spent the 80s listening to CFNY 102.1 out of Toronto-the "Spirit of Radio"- best damn music EVER! I completely forgot these guys...can't imagine why, they still sound great. Thanks for uploading!

  • @kelsman59 YES! I also remember when CFNY was "the spirit of radio." What the hell happened? ;-)

  • Strange Advance were SO cool... I was more inteo "love Becomes Electric" but I sure remember this from the radio. Not that I'm EXACTLY complaining, but there isn't a "Canadian Sound" in a lot of today's international music that there was at one time... Nelly Furtado and Avril Lavigne pretty much sound rather generic... Gone are the days of this group, Spoons, Tu, Gowan, Glass Tiger, and many others...

  • I loved this decade!!!

  • Good stuff. Just discovered these guys. God I wish I could have lived this decade

  • Is it that I have finally hit that point in my life where searching for 80's songs is a dire attempt to bring back the best years of my life? 18 with a 14$ an hour job and a 78 Impala living at home and my only responsibilities were good grades, stay off the pot and don't knock up my girlfriend who is now my wife. I think I will go cry now.

  • @DrearyErie Could be worse. At least you have good taste in music.

  • @DrearyErie sums it up beautifully bud!

  • @DrearyErie

The same reason I am here going through 80's songs. An attempt to bring back the best years of my life. I was in my late teens, early 20's. My friends also do the same thing. Now we sit around, listening to all these songs, wondering what the hell happened. Guess it's the getting older thing, we're geezers now. Besides, the music nowadays sucks!

  • @KLVANBC

Hey man, everyone who was young in the 80's stays young forever.

It's the law of the universe.

  • @DrearyErie Your not alone trying to find 80s songs and WOW!! $14 bux an hour in 1985 no wonder they were the best days of your life.=))

  • @DrearyErie I think that every now and then, those of us who grew up in that era need to go back and remember the world as it was then. There was a sense of comfort in those times for many of us. So long as we're not listening to this stuff 24/7, I think the occasional trip down memory lane, to recharge our spirits, is a perfectly good thing! It's great to remember great music, whatever the era.

  • I'm so proud to be Canadian

  • Great song ッ

  • I remember when I first heard this song...about a year ago...and I thought it was (don't laugh) an old David Bowie song.

What was odd is that someone used this song for a Robotech fan video...

  • @oldetownecoffee1 This was right around the time Carole Pope did "Never Said I loved You" with the Payola$...

  • Strange Advance was just one of many amazing 80's bands.

  • Gretzky and the Edm Oilers surely listened to this as their inspiration

  • what a great song overall. the 80's were simply fantastic with talent and innovation. now its all shit.

  • Synthasizers, keyboards, electic guitars, and drum machines. It doesn't get much more simplistic than that. :)

  • It`s a Canadian Band right ?

  • @ppeckford Yes. :) Strange Advance is a Canadian band. :)

  • I was born in 1980 and remember hearing this song as a child. Good classic 80s song.

  • By far the best song of the 1980's. Brings back memories that can only live once. The 1980's were the BEST time to be alive period. I grew up in Toronto, Ont. back then and it was the best city period. The 1980's had the very best music and movies forever. The 1980's will live on forever in our memories and in song.

  • This was a big song growing up in Tampa fl. Stood out from all the goth going on at the time. Good times :)

  • Comment removed

  • You know almost cant listen to this because it makes me too nostalgic for more innocent teenage times.

  • @patbirder i hear you

  • I wanna go back in time...........life was so much simpler back then

  • wow, they just dont make songs like this anymore!

  • Great decade for Canadian bands. Miss those days, loverboy ,chillawack, chalk cirlce , one to one so many great canadian bands.

  • @fiset35 Im an American but I have to admit there have been a ton of GREAT Canuck bands and musicians to come from up there but unf never received the credit they deserved...TPOH, The Hip, 8 Seconds, Glass Tiger, Honeymoon Suite, Parachute Club etc. etc. Sarah McLachlans about the only major one that comes to mind that was able to breakthrough, and of course Anne Murray too but who counts her really?

  • @Hockeyguy17

I 'd say Bryan Adams is the best known Canadian artist world wide....but I may be forgetting someone

  • @fastfootedone BA's the shit, seen him so many times in concert I cant even recall.. He rocks still!

  • @Hockeyguy17

hey check out The Spoons, and Chalk Circle

    let me know whatcha think.

  • @michealingram I listen to them also often, love Chalk Circles April Fool and This Mourning...The Spons' Nova Heart is classic! Are you from Canada? If so you obviously appreciate the great bands from up there..Who else do you like? I have so many more

  • Wow! *.*

  • I think one of the 80's best tunes

  • One of my favorite songs!

  • 80z music is the best. This song is the proof.

  • Yeah, i'm loving this song!

At the point ooooooooooooof the knife......you never seek aaaaaaanyone...how the strong wiiiiiiiiiiiiill survive...t the end oooooooof the gun..........OOOOOOOOH YEAAAAAAAAAAAH

  • cheer from Quebec

  • *80's fap* This and stay in the light sum up the decade for me. *loves*

  • A lot of times walking to school with this on the walkman.

  • @sheltonstu

    What's a walkman?

No seriously though I can see people asking that within a few years if not already. When you know of technology that the young ones haven't even heard of, that's scary.

Wow I was in grade 1 when this came out ...

  • I miss the 80s so much and I was just a kid back then. 11 years old in '85. Too young to appreciate it's awesomeness...

  • love this song!!!

  • Comment removed

  • There are so many great Canadian bands, many which are underrated.

  • @SpencerDrew08 totally -- remember Images in Vogue!!

  • Went from playing it on my Walkman back then, to loading it on mp3 player.

  • The good old 80's - when you had to have talent, not just wear a short skirt!

  • Thise were the days!

  • This song is great...............realllly!

  • que de souvenirs !!!!!!!

  • Awesome, one of my favourites for sure!

  • Comment removed

  • @sweiland75 I was back then :P. I really get stuck on songs for certain periods of time. It's why my music collection is only growing at a snails pace.

  • I listen to this all day everyday

  • I love this song to this day. I remember watching it before MuchMusic was even born! I believe it was the 1050 Chum Countdown or something of the sort. To this day I am still trying to decipher the meaning of this song too! LOL!

  • @Canadiana71 hey i think that i first aired on toronto rocks with john major

  • @lostinsoundz

Toronto Rocks! New videos on Monday, Heavy Metal Wednesday, All Request Thursday!! What a show. It was a very sad day when I heard John Majhors died.

  • @Canadiana71 yes it was a sad day, but what a trip down memory lane. Brings back a time when life was much more simple and carefree. Cheers

  • Anyone think he sounds like Iva Davis from Icehouse, I got this in 7 inch on Saturday for 50p and have to say its bloody good.

  • simply beautiful beautiful

  • do you where i can purchase or download this music?

  • @wormguy123 Hey man, you might be able to get there greatest hits from HMV

    Music in Canada !

  • 1980s music doesn't get any better than this. This song holds up really well too. Let's hope they can put together a reunion tour!

  • wish this was on itunes
