For some weird reason-this tune seems to the ultimate 80's song-it has that real eighties feel & sound to it like no other of that time. IMO. :) Happy New Year Everyone!! :)
I'm so glad that I grew up in the 80s. Hey dose anyone remember "Good Rockin Tonight". It aired Friday nights on the CBC. Terry David Mulligan hosted it.

Funny how back then...life seemed so hard. Here we are many many years later and alot smarter...sometimes wish I could go back!! The 70's and 80's were the time for sure!!

Very good song, never heard this before in the UK, one thing I really like about 80's new wave/synthpop is the singers voices, they don't sound anything like that in todays music.
I'm gonna sit in my room all day, winding my watch back repeatedly and hope I'll walk outside and people will be playing new wave music on their car radios, wearing chic clothing and spending hours on their hair. Please, please, please
to drearyErie ! A time is gone ! But U ( you) keep optimistick !!!!! Keep living of 80'S , it was much more easier ! and fun ! those years were fun ! U never try to turn time back ! It was a nice time !
For the last two hours, I have been listening and watching 80's music and each one brings me back when I was a kid riding my BMX ! I feel so nostalgic and all I want to do is build a city where everything will be just like in the 80's !!! Crazy dream, isn't ? But just like New Order used to sing... Dreams never end !!!! God bless the 80's kids : )
@hectorlabbe wow..yes very well said. This song takes me back to grade 6, which is why I wanted to hear it today, with the nostalgic feeling of the last day of school for kids. I would do anything to go back to those years..I'll be the first to visit your 80's city, Mr hectorlabbe :)
@musiclibrarygirl Thank you miss ! I'm glad you felt like me and many others : ) If only Strange Advance was back on the road it would be soooo cool ! Did you know Foreigner & Journey will be playing in Toronto this coming august ? Where do you live ? See yaaa
@hectorlabbe haha you betcha I'll be there! I've already bought my ticket to see Journey/Foreigner/Night Ranger at Molson Ampitheatre on Aug 9th :) See you there, perhaps?
@GrapeLola Thanks thats sweet ! You were thinking about Field of Dreams, right ? By the way, do you know were can we find the complete video of Love Games ?
@hectorlabbe Build the city and i'll be your first and very permanent resident!!! I would give my life to go back to the 80s, it was the only good time in my life and when they were over a HUGE part of me died,,,Believe me, you are sooo not alone in wanting those days back my friend!
@3itchontherise Thank you that is cool to feel that others think the same way ! I imagine going back to the 80's and our Canadian PM would have been Jack Layton : ) Gone to soon, I never met him but he left so much love around him and his farewell letter touched me. We will miss you so much Jack ! Coolest Canadian ever : )

@hectorlabbe I dunno about you man, but I grew up in the 80s, and I found the music to be a bunch of super gay shit. So glad the 90s came along and wiped all theis homo crap off the table.
Song always makes me think of Samatha Taylor's voice in her CBC video show...."Hi I am Samatha Taylor and on today's show I have Strange Advance, Gowan, Platinum Blonde etc etc etc".....
What a wonderful time to grow up. Now we get to watch Beavis and Butthead on the "video music station". What ever happened to progress..??
Man I love the 80s. Too bad I was born in the wrong generation (1995). I love all 80s music so much. I was reading some comments here and everyone keeps talking about what the 80s were like for them god I get so jealous.
Every time I listen to an 80s song I feel nostalgic for some odd reason. I wish I could've lived in the 80s.
@SJism23 hey sj, i was in born the 50s and the 80s remain the best decade ever for music in my mind, I mean come on: U2, Depeche Mode, New Order, Pukka Orchestra, Blue Peter, Strange Advance, Duran duran, Martha and the Muffins, Frozen Ghost, Peter Schilling, David Bowie, The Police, The Spoons, Chalk Circle , Eye Eye, Psychedelic furs, bananarama, The motels, Boys Brigade, Gowan....and on and on, incomparable!
I saw these guys downtown Toronto yesterday. Both are bald and very heavy and they were feeding pigeons on a bench in Moss Park. They said they were taking a break after walking miles and miles to the sea.
God I love this song!! Remember getting their first album, and listening to it over.. and over... .. and this video - been trying to get a good copy for years! Oh I thought they were HOT.....
Living in Buffalo. NY, I spent the 80s listening to CFNY 102.1 out of Toronto-the "Spirit of Radio"- best damn music EVER! I completely forgot these guys...can't imagine why, they still sound great. Thanks for uploading!
Strange Advance were SO cool... I was more inteo "love Becomes Electric" but I sure remember this from the radio. Not that I'm EXACTLY complaining, but there isn't a "Canadian Sound" in a lot of today's international music that there was at one time... Nelly Furtado and Avril Lavigne pretty much sound rather generic... Gone are the days of this group, Spoons, Tu, Gowan, Glass Tiger, and many others...
Is it that I have finally hit that point in my life where searching for 80's songs is a dire attempt to bring back the best years of my life? 18 with a 14$ an hour job and a 78 Impala living at home and my only responsibilities were good grades, stay off the pot and don't knock up my girlfriend who is now my wife. I think I will go cry now.
The same reason I am here going through 80's songs. An attempt to bring back the best years of my life. I was in my late teens, early 20's. My friends also do the same thing. Now we sit around, listening to all these songs, wondering what the hell happened. Guess it's the getting older thing, we're geezers now. Besides, the music nowadays sucks!
@DrearyErie I think that every now and then, those of us who grew up in that era need to go back and remember the world as it was then. There was a sense of comfort in those times for many of us. So long as we're not listening to this stuff 24/7, I think the occasional trip down memory lane, to recharge our spirits, is a perfectly good thing! It's great to remember great music, whatever the era.
By far the best song of the 1980's. Brings back memories that can only live once. The 1980's were the BEST time to be alive period. I grew up in Toronto, Ont. back then and it was the best city period. The 1980's had the very best music and movies forever. The 1980's will live on forever in our memories and in song.
@fiset35 Im an American but I have to admit there have been a ton of GREAT Canuck bands and musicians to come from up there but unf never received the credit they deserved...TPOH, The Hip, 8 Seconds, Glass Tiger, Honeymoon Suite, Parachute Club etc. etc. Sarah McLachlans about the only major one that comes to mind that was able to breakthrough, and of course Anne Murray too but who counts her really?
@michealingram I listen to them also often, love Chalk Circles April Fool and This Mourning...The Spons' Nova Heart is classic! Are you from Canada? If so you obviously appreciate the great bands from up there..Who else do you like? I have so many more
At the point ooooooooooooof the knife......you never seek aaaaaaanyone...how the strong wiiiiiiiiiiiiill survive...t the end oooooooof the gun..........OOOOOOOOH YEAAAAAAAAAAAH
No seriously though I can see people asking that within a few years if not already. When you know of technology that the young ones haven't even heard of, that's scary.
@sweiland75 I was back then :P. I really get stuck on songs for certain periods of time. It's why my music collection is only growing at a snails pace.
I love this song to this day. I remember watching it before MuchMusic was even born! I believe it was the 1050 Chum Countdown or something of the sort. To this day I am still trying to decipher the meaning of this song too! LOL!
I had this on casette and drove over 12 hours to my worksite from Winnipeg to N Manitoba, my sound system costed more than the car, but honestly it was like the soundtrack to my life, long lonely ride, wouldnt trade it for the world, makes me happy and sad at the same time

Hey man, everyone who was young in the 80's stays young forever.
It's the law of the universe.

@DrearyErie Your not alone trying to find 80s songs and WOW!! $14 bux an hour in 1985 no wonder they were the best days of your life.=))
TheSunnycal 7 months ago 2
@DrearyErie I think that every now and then, those of us who grew up in that era need to go back and remember the world as it was then. There was a sense of comfort in those times for many of us. So long as we're not listening to this stuff 24/7, I think the occasional trip down memory lane, to recharge our spirits, is a perfectly good thing! It's great to remember great music, whatever the era.

I remember when I first heard this song...about a year ago...and I thought it was (don't laugh) an old David Bowie song.
What was odd is that someone used this song for a Robotech fan video...

Synthasizers, keyboards, electic guitars, and drum machines. It doesn't get much more simplistic than that. :)

I was born in 1980 and remember hearing this song as a child. Good classic 80s song.

What's a walkman?
No seriously though I can see people asking that within a few years if not already. When you know of technology that the young ones haven't even heard of, that's scary.
Wow I was in grade 1 when this came out ...
