this is a strage performase to watch. if you pay attention to the spectators reaction he was amazed at the cards turning all the same way, and completly forgot about the card he selcted, then as kind of an afterthought the only one the same way was his card but there was no reaction to that, i used to think that when doing triuph you should spread the cards face up with one face down card to build suspition about the identity of the card, but i think this shows that thats anti climactic.
@TheBradTobin I've seen so many tricks lose their climax due to a spectator forgetting the selection. A small word of advice to aspiring close-up magicians: don't show the selected card to just one person, let them show it around to everybody.
@Snootwaller no, the point i was trying to make is that after the cards straiten out its so amazing that the finding of the card is no longer important to the spectator and calling attention to the face down card interupts the person from fully reacting to the straintening out of the cards making it anti climactic i think its much stronger to spread the deck face down and reveal the card face up so the effect comes to conclusions all at once

I suppose the video started a little late, because we didn't get to see him choose the card, did we? I can think of several methods, maybe even a crimp. But you're right, to matter how you slice it, this guy is AWESOME. Us weekend magicians can never hold a candle to the professionals who do it every day and night nonstop.
of course you didn't see a force. the video started during the shuffling well after the card was selected. He could have easily forced of peeked the card beforhand.
Wow that is really good. My cull SUCKS. Course that may be because I barely use it so I haven't practiced it like I should but it would be worth it just to pull this off. Course I'd probably have to practice for like a month on nothing else to get that good.
you got it KCG, he's just a master of the cull. Funny how you can make a card effect with one sleight, but laypeople just don't even think about how somebody could be able to do that so well.

Yep, he culls every single face down card. Just between you and me, I suspect he's spent a little bit of time in the joint ;-)

The cull is clear, but I'm at a loss as to how the dude's card was known. I didn't see any signs of a force. That's the great part of this for me.

how to do you do that, that move is fucking sick. any tutorial on the web?
budani007 4 years ago
so are the cards marked or what's the move?
budani007 5 years ago
bud, it's called a "cull" -- when he is spreading through the cards he is secretly separating the ones face up from the ones face down.
