  • @Bournoo thanks Bournoo! stanwell is a great site...next clip im hoping to film a flight from there down the coast and back :-)

  • @hellblaueszebra1970 where did u travel from to fly at stanwell? this was shot at the 127 which i think is not so fish eye as the 170. this was usinf the gopro hero. the hero2 looks very good. warrenwindsports just posted up a video from manilla and the footage and clip looks great even though theybused the wider setting

  • Hi , nice video. I was also at stanwell for soaring ..long time ago and so far away :-(

Which angle did you use for your video ?

    127° or 170° ?

    cheers

  • brilliant!! love to do it!

  • Another great video from you Mr Andrew as the weather starts to come good at last.

You put a lot of work into the presentation of your videos and is shows, keep them coming.

The take off at Stanwell is from Bald Hill not Stanwell Tops which is at the back of the valley about 2 Kms back up Lawrence Hargraves Drive towards the Freeway. It's a common mistake most people make calling Bald Hill Reserve Stanwell Tops maybe because it's at the top of the hill overlooking Stanwell Park.

  • @grem1944 thank Grem, You are perfectly correct, I've always thought of Stanwell Tops as being the location, with Bald Hill being the place. Like Mount Elliott being a place in the location of Corryong, and Stanwell Park Beach Reserve (place) in Stanwell Park (the location). Or maybe we are both right :-)

  • 1:42 - WOW! I hope that was intentional! Awesome video, cool song!

  • @pdutube hi pdUTube, the guy in the high performance topless looked a great pilot,as he was in a spin right in front of the hill and spectators was probably a bit of a show for them. A glider in a spin is really not flying as say a paper airoplane, more like falling as a sheet of paper would. A glider like his might get into a spin accidentally, and very very important that a pilot knows how to recover, and my guess is he was practicising recovery so that it became natural. thanks for posting

  • Looks like another perfect day in Paradise for you Mr Andrew :-)

  • Nice flight!

  • @eliade66 thanks Eliade66, Stanwell Tops is one of Sydney's easiest and most popular flying spots...made all the better for the easy set up and landing zones, no landing in 2ft high hay for us! and the crowds who come to enjoy and admire it all

  • IT'S ON AGAIN @ Stanwell, lucky buggers, still northerly here in the west :(

  • @MrLiftHog the winds have not been agreeable for a long time here either...has been howling westerlies for so long! A drought of flying recently broken!!

  • nice one mate.

  • Nice Mr. A.

A seriously good day for all the usual suspects.

  • @1DuneRat hey DuneRat - the other suspects hung out at Curlee Saturday and had an absolutely full day. I didnt see any northen beaches boys at Stanwell Sunday, they must have filled their logs books the day before! Will be in that new wing soon enough and able to jump the gap!
