My gosh if there was only footage from THE FIRST NIGHT of their Hollywood Bowl concerts in 1964....not '65. My mom was at the first night in '64 (Aug. 21st I believe) and she had box seats with her girlfriend right behind KHJ D.J. Sam Riddle!

@MattHatter there are several features of 64 footage/Hollywood Bowl Beatles concerts on YT. I just watched one. They're excellent. But thank God someone had a projector at THIS show. I was at BOTH 65 concerts. This is something to be archived for all time/preserved beyond YT. Let's hope it will. It's the whole feel of what it was: Beatlemania and the Music.

What utter fools so many people are......raw footage of The Beatles was found (this film you're now watching) and somebody has done a fantastic job of linking it up to raw AUDIO footage from the same show.......and then you have these utter fools thinking that this equals lip syncing by The Beatles.

to all the people talking about lip sync or whatever, they performed live for real, they played the instruments and sung live, EMI recorded the 64 and 65 hollywood bowl shows proffesionaly, (I mean, soundboard stereo multitrack recordings), and released their only official live album, "the beatles at the hollywood bowl". too bad they didn't use the 21 different songs and only 14 are avaiable officially (13 on the album, and "baby's in black" on the b-side of the "real love" single)

I think the video was "synced" with the Capitol record track. This looks like an old 8mm film (no sound). Great job putting it all together...don't think the sound would have been that good if the camera had been able to pick up their voices.

the 2 performances were recorded, and some of the songs were released as "The Beatles - Live at the Hollywood Bowl." . I'd love to know if EMI/Capitol had filmed the concerts as well. I don't remember what George Martin wrote on the liner notes of the LP

This, I think, is one of the few times the Beatles wore those military jackets with white shirts and ties. Looks great on them, compared to when they wore those jackets with their black turtlenecks.

The sound is so good because it has been synched with the 1977 release of the "Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl" LP. The album is a compilation of both the 1964 and 65 concerts. This footage is obviously from the 65 concert. The year before they were still wearing black suits and ties.
