A note about the impermanence of Serial: I'm interested in organic process -- hence the use of the cellular pattern. An organic process consists of birth, growth and then ultimately decay and disintegration. To me as an artist the destruction of this piece is as important as its creation, and after all no work of art is truly permanent. Of course with a work of art everyone should have his or her own opinion, and the comments that have been posted are interesting to read.
pretty artsy fartsy language for a few squares. it's always the upper middle class daughters who go into art out of boredom or not wanting to actually work for a living. SO out of their guilt of having no talent , they pretend to study art lingo to be part of the big scam. Art is 98% bullshit trust me im an artist.. paint what you know..and you'll know what you paint.
It's actually a crude form of Buddhistic practice where -very- intricate designs are created with paint [in powder form] over the course of sometimes months, only to be wiped out on completion to symbolise the futility and fleeting nature of life. This is a rather crude approximation of the same thing.
The design of the final piece wasn't very interesting. Perhaps if the final design was more detailed, with more than repeating shapes, it might be a lot better.
I agree with tenslerISfunny, she could have at least recreated some famous work of art; instead she just made it look like mitochondria of a (biological) cell wall or something.
I agree with davesilvan, she should have just copied something famous; instead she just created something of her own design. Stuff I have not seen before scares me.
this was stupid because all you did was waste your talent on something so pointless, it was not like u made this in an hour so no big deal this def took a better portion of a day to make and here u are destroying it moments later. I dont know if your a hippie or not but this def seemed like something a stupid stoned out hippie would do.
i don't get it...but then again im not artistic

What the hell was the point of that, aside from wasting delicious Froot Loops?

You suck for not coating that in some kind of sealer. Why would you waste all your hippie time on making that then not saving it?
