I was in the USCG on Sand Island from '77 to '79 and never heard of this place--but then again, if she furnished it with the decor from other Tiki bars as they closed, most of those were still open when I was there. Is this place, as a tiki bar, dated to some point within the last thirty years?
In any case, this video is one of the best as it captures so much of the bar and quite a bit of the feeling of being there.
Great place, good food, inexpensive, but very hard to find. On a street on the right side of Sand Island Access Rd. One small sign sitting on the ground to find it. If you reach the bridge, you have gone too far. Blind piano player has been there for decades.
