That's some scarry shit and the funny thing is that i actually used that airline to fly from Warsaw to Chicago once i might reconsider flying with them next time. No hart feelings Cap. Wrona.
Consideration has to be given to weather and winds and the lack of tires to cushion impact.. Foam eases the slide but the touchdown margin of impact between aircraft body and runway is an unsurpassed master call of calculation. Superb control, marvelous skill and magnificent steel of emotion.
@wet8pussy *Sigh* Why do you always have to hate? There is no Polish shit being built people could fly on, so they fly on American shit and European shit. Apart from that, that guy landing the Airbus (European shit, btw) in the Hudson (American river with maybe some shit) was a great pilot. As was this guy landing the American shit on Polish airport (with some shit on the runway). Stop hating. There's crap everywhere, and people owe their lives to these pilots. Period. That said, great landing!!
Job well done by the piolots, got everyone safely back to the ground without injury. Yeah bellies up landing can be routine, but it still requires a lot of skill from the pilots, there are factors that can go wrong, even the most experience pilots will tell you that. Seems time were on their side to an extent, jetterson the fuel is standard procedure to reduce the risk of fire, fortunately they had time to prepare, and they did that spot on. Hats off to them.
An incredible piece of airmanship by the pilot. And not forgetting the fire crews who acted fast to coat the runway with fire retardant before the aircraft landed, and were on the scene within seconds of landing.
I want to know what idiot disliked this video lol. Some satanist that wanted to see everyone crash and burn? Like honestly haha. Even if that's what the one moron wanted, the landing is still impressive . .
@specwrite Well, I imagine theres a good layer of Foam on the runway, they usually do that so the jet has a softer touchdown. I'm not 100% on this in this scenario, though.
Just fantastic to watch. Amazing flying skill and balance. I bet it might have even felt normal inside the cabin (apart from the added noise/smoke/sparks) lol.
@DanDauzacker Incomparable!! if you meant Hudson River!
This landing was prepared to minimize risk of catastrophe. Foamed runway to ease the slide of the plane. Foam with silicone/Teflon element to reduce the risk of fire from sparks, friction.
Hudson pilot had few minutes and decided to go on water as there was no other option.
This pilot waited to use all of the fuel.
Either way well done to pilot. Skill, bravery and calmness. Hats down to any pilot ,that saves more than 1 passenger.
Excellent teamwork by the pilot and co-pilot of the LOT airlines. This kind of controlled landing is what I would expect from a highly experienced pilot. Nice Job and great work by the emergency crews foaming the runway and ensuring no fire would engulf the aircraft!
Congrats to the LOT crew for a very safe landing and to the ground crews! If this was an Air France crew no telling how the ending would be and I wouldn't want to think about it either LOL
Congratulations to LOT and congratulations to Boeing! World-class piloting and world class construction. It's amazing to see how well the plane handled the landing.
@CanNibble The pilot is Tadeusz Wrona...Hes a pilot for 20 years.People said the landing was good and they thought in the last seconds the wheels finally worked. In _90_ seconds everyone was out of the airplane. There were 231 ppl.NOW on news they are saying * It was a little scared..But u didnt feel there werent wheels* And now theres a vute older person that 66 saying * It wasnt that bad*...The pilot didnt panic and Im like ....*Life or death* Thats all I know for now :D
