XD i had the same problems... try closing any open copies of sony vegas. in order for the patch to edit the executable, it can't be open already. thats like telling a baseball player how to bat when hes already in midswing. you can't change the instructions when they are already being carried out.

go onto run, type in regedit and click go, then go onto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then SOFTWARE then Microsoft then Windows NT then CurrentVersion then Winlogon then SpecialAccounts then UserList once on that screen double click on administrator and set its value to one, if the administrator value doesnt show up, make a dword string, name it administrator and set the value to one.

You do know you can simply press CTRL+ALT+DELETE on the login screen to get the "safe login" and manually type in "administrator" as username and press login?(without password)! that takes about 3.2 seconds of your life so this is kinda a waste of time! lol

the registry is a place for programs to store information. if you change the wrong value the wrong way, then it could change the behavior of a program, possibly in a bad way. same goes for your OS (windows xp)

WRONG! windows asks you to create an account when you first boot it up after installing it. while this account may have administrative privelages, it is NOT THE ADMIN ACCOUNT. learn to read fool.

For XP users - the first administrator account created should be used and don't forget to create a password for it, even if no one lives with u, u can go to control panel - user accounts to do so, then go to the keygen right click run as... click administrator and put your password that u used to create your account with, that's it
