Exactly the same thing happened to me. I have never heard the song but the power of those feelings in that voice captured me completely. After trying to get the title of the song with Shazam unsuccessfully I searched for it for a while here and found it. By the way I saw the whole show just now and it´s worth your while to netflix it.

I caught the tail end of the show when the girl died. I only heard a few seconds of the song and was hooked.
