At age 14, I was attending Green Acres Jr. High School in Shreveport, Louisiana when Johnny Horton died. I remember well the funeral being held at a funeral home within sight...just up the street from our school. We saw John Wayne and a number of other well known country personalities drive up to pay their last respects. I truly liked and enjoyed Johnny...it's a shame he went out as he did. George Jones does a pretty good cover of "I'm a One Woman Man." Just a thought. Knightsix

When she got divorced her "Ex" took it on the sly and I haven't been able to remember what the name of that album was, but this was one of the songs on it and I just loved it --- even at age 12 :o) I am now almost 48 and I have never been able to locate that album. I know--I thought about it and Dwight is definitely one of the better ones although he' s not had a hit in a while--I don't think. Seems that Nashville crowd just dumps you when you get too old. Rock and roll does the same thing to their aging stars with a couple of exceptions. But, he does know and respect the history of the genre. He's not a half-bad actor , either. Seen "Slingblade"? Really good movie. And yes he does it--I think it's on youtube. Johnny Cash might do it , too.
