Regardless of the contribution of ethnic minorities within Russia, Russia was built as a Great Nation primarily by the hands of ethnic Russians, in every sense. Science, literature, construction, war, all was done by people who identified themselves as Russians and were Russians to the very core of their being. Our roots are in Rus', but we don't need to look that far into our history to find a record of great achievement, heroism and proof of our unbreakable spirit.
