BICEPS? LOL maybe for underhanded shots which aren't the most common. Most are over head shots done by shoulder extension then flexion followed by tricep extensions.
I wish there was a course for badminton at school and is teaching stuff like this. I trade any of my course, math, science, english, french for a course in badminton any day.
plz tell me biceps are NOT main muscles used, i've been letting them losen up to give myself more time to build on my TRICPES, aarrrgghh, and even so i've been playing better so i'm pretty sure biceps arnt vital... =_="
they are though in badmitten but that's a different sport than badminton where I use mostly the forearm, shoulder and butt muscles as primary ones (and the dick muscle for keeping my balance and steering around the court as secondary/supporting...)
lol? cough, maybe like add in the triceps, just maybe? =.=''' without them you cant extend your arm at all to hit like a shuttle above your head .... or do your back hand.... this video is a joke
PEOPLE DONT LISTEN TO THIS! this is only the case, if ur swinging ur arm around like a beginner. Trapezius is a primary muscle yes, but a backhand barely uses the biceps at all. AND quads are definately primary muscle groups in badminton, not antagonistic or supporting. You need explosive leg power for continuous jump smashes in. You may think i am crazy to argue with the video, but ive got an Alevel in biology and played badminton for county (and an A* in PE GCSE if thats worth anything lol)
biceps have nothing to do with baminton.... they are designed for retracting muscles quickly... the triceps are whats used as they are designed for quick strikes like punching
What do you mean, the biceps have nothing to do with badminton? How are you supposed to bend you elbow to prepare for smashes otherwise? The biceps and triceps always work together in antagonistic motion.
Wrist plays a more important role in badminton than in other sports, but really, it's pretty weak. Wrist movement is crucial but the strength comes from the biceps/triceps.
i'll have to disagree with you there, it is true that wrist is important in badminton, but the strength does not comes from biceps, it comes from your forearms
lol its not so much biceps, its more forearm or what its called and you need a good stability e.g. in jump smashes and body ortation so you need almost every muscle in your body

wtf is a wrist muscle.
davidzhangdai 1 year ago
@davidzhangdai i think he means the forearm muscles^^ if he does, he's right, most of the power in badminton comes from the wrist and fingers.

Primary = calf and thighs.
Without those, we can't get to the shuttle and use our wrist and arm muscles.
most used muscles are definitely the lower body. A great badminton player(forgot) once said: You play with your feet.

don't you see the "n" in badminton.. not badmitton. fucking dumb lady. unless thats how its pronounced outside canada.
