I bet because this was a PS3 launch title, it was rushed to launch date and sacrificed some of it's quality to hit the deadline. Don't get me wrong some of the scenes were amazing like when Snake goes into Naomi's Laboratory and Foxdie is explained in such a convincing way. Snakes suit alone deserves multiple design awards. Otacon and Meryl were extremely well rendered from what they were in MGS1 and 2

Probably the greatest game ever made but beleaguered with major script writing errors. Unnecessary twists that don't add to the appeal of the storyline. Almost sidelining the hero of the franchise, and not displaying his fascinating abilities and then instead of recieving military honours at the end of his service, he tops himself. I am a Metal gear fan but some key opportunities were lost in this game.
