I went today. It was the biggest joke I have ever gone to. Not because of the aerial demonstrations. Seeing the F-22 fly was just sick!! The lack of planning for getting to the base, parking, security and everything else was a joke. We live 90 miles away, left at 8:00, hoping to be there by 10:30. We made it to the base by 10am. Then it took 3 hrs to park, and get to the line. 5 hours total, absurd!
This was my first Edwards air show and we just drove right in and parked within 10 minutes your an IDIOT to wait in that mile long line next time go in the ***** entrance, plan ahead......the show was awsome.....
I hear that!...I got in with no problem because i got there an hour befor the gates opened...but getting out of there was a different story...I left early to beat the traffic witch was 2:30 and it took 2 1/2 hours just to get out of the parking lot...My 1 hour trip home took 4 hours!
The F-35 JSF is listed under static displays and this time it's likely to be the real thing! In '07 it was just a wooden mockup of one but now that they are flight testing the fighter at Edwards this may be the first place the public is going to be able to see it!
"Static displays will include the first unvieling of the F-35 Lightning II during an Air Show and a X-47-B mock up will be on display, along with various other historcal and current aircraft. "
any of you who are able to go, really should, ive been going since childhood to the airshows, and the shuttle landings and it has always been a real treat. im in bakersfield so im really close. i was fortunate enough to see all the first shuttle landings and tests when i was a kid, and even got to see regan speak there. some of my first memories were of that place. take care all and i hope to see ya there!!
I flew out to Edwards show in 07. Loved it. Raptor wasn't doing it's demo yet although the test Raptor did do a few maneuvers. My favorite was the B-1 high speed pass and then watching the Bone pull up while doing a slow barrel roll. The crowd broke out into cheers! The C-17 cargo drop was also cool. I'm bummed that I can't make it out there this year. I did hit the Luke AFB show locally back in March.
That was funny as all hell. I was thinking the promo for the show was going to go an entirely different direction from "Cable advertising" I'm doing all I can to make the show.
I only want to see the F-22 Raptor fly it's the best stealth fighter in the world! Oh I love the B-1 Lancer and F-117 Nighthawk! No country in the world can come close to the United State Of America's air superiority!! Keep up the good work heroes of the armed forces! You are very much appreciated.

Hey Jesusluvsyou4444 Who says Yeager will be flying?
airforceone860 2 years ago
If you look on the official Chuck Yeager website, it says he'll be breaking the sound barrier some time during the show.
Jesusluvsyou4444 2 years ago
Itll be the show opener.
"Aerial demonstrations officially begin with Brig. Gen. (ret) Chuck Yeager and Maj. Gen. (ret) Joe Engle breaking the sound barrier in two F-16s"

I can't wait to go to Edwards.
It will be cool to see all the bombers that Edwards will have flying. Plus, Yeager breaking the sound barrier. :)
