  • GE 90 is so mesmerizing!

  • @LastXdeth

    This is not a GE90; it's a Rolls-Royce Trent 892.

  • @EmadIV The 7-200ER does not utilize RR 892. It uses either PW 4090, RR 895, GE 90.

  • @LastXdeth

    I meant Trent 895.

  • Really the best!

  • Very nice video. Always enjoy hearing the Trents' fire-up !

  • Nice video! Love ANZ (I am half Kiwi). I have attached my American Airlines LAX to LHR from teh other side of the runway. You can see the full SIDS LOOP4 departure procedure....

Good job, keep it up! By the way, the small cameras pick up the engine sound very well, as you will see in mine (I used a Sony DSC-120).

  • @onecunningfox

Wow, those extreme videos of yours are taken by A Sony DSC-120? Certainly amazing.

*counting the days left for the AA 777-300ER video*

  • @EmadIV

Yes they are taken with a Sony DSC-120and thanks for watching. I woudlnt say they are extreme though, just well filmed!

I am counting the days until AA gets the 773. Apparently it will be used on flights to mainland China. I dont really have a desire to go there (I have been to the rest of Asia and SE Asia though as well as HK)...so we will see.

  • Hey is that buzzing sound coming from the plane or is it the microphone on the camera

  • @devilation10 The footage was only taken with my little hand held digital camera and the microphone is probably struggling with a range of sounds so it does sound a bit distorted. You've got the sound of the engines but also I was leaning right over the air conditioning ducts (to help keep the area around the seat cool due to IFE heat etc) behind the Business seats taking this footage which probably doesn't help the overall quality.

  • @devilation10

Uh uh... that, my friend, is the famous "buzz-saw" of the Trent800. Fabulous! ;)

  • @SuperMauricioromero As per my other comments to you, around 24 hours AKL-LAX-LHR

  • how many pasengers does it carrey?

  • @chaghar Air New Zealand currently seats 304 on the 777-200ER. 26 in Business Premier, 36 in Premium Economy and 242 in Economy.

  • good video :)

  • @bogartdad That is great to hear! LHR lounge is a Star Alliance lounge so only so much that can be done with that one, but that LAX lounge is Air New Zealand's own so can stamp our our personality on that one. Will miss the 747 on that LHR route when it finishes in 5 months, but come Apr 2011 the brand new 777-300ER's will be up and flying with an even better Business Premier cabin so you can look forward to that! Although it's the work our crew do that sets us apart as much as anything!

  • Flew form LAX-LHR SEP. 1-7 on NZ in Business Premier 747. THE BEST experience. Flight crew, food, lounge in LAX....LHR needs WORK...but I can't recommend them HIGHLY ENOUGH.

  • @will911B Business Premier on Air New Zealand in my opinion is one of the best Business Class experiences you can have. The fully flat 6' 7" bed is the best sleep in the sky that I've had. Food, wine and crew are great.

Air New Zealand has great connections with United Airlines at LAX to get to and from Chicago and with the 34" seat pitch on the 747 aircraft on the AKL-LAX-AKL sectors means you've actually got space. I'd go for it.

Check out the airnewzealand com au site for the best fares.

  • If you pasue at 1:10 you can see a Qantas A380 and 747.

  • Were you in Business Premier?

  • @MultiMcCOYS Yes sure was. The best way to fly!

  • love the sound, i'm flying on a tripler in janurary :) should be awesome!

  • hey I'm gonna be flying from Auckland to London on Air New Zealand via Los Angeles. Do you know if i can stop in L.A. and then catch the Air New Zealand flight to London the next day.

  • Most Air New Zealand fares do allow a stopover in LA, yes. There might just be a service fee to change the ticket and it depends on availability on the days of travel you wish to undertake as to whether there is any additional airfare costs that need to be collected. You are best to talk to one of the Air New Zealand Contact Centre staff. Call 0800 737 000 toll-free if you are calling from New Zealand. Otherwise go on to the Air New Zealand website and get the number for the country you're in.

  • You sure fly a lot, lucky you!

  • Yes, I've been a lucky one at times. I have another AKL video landing from Nov 08 on a 747-400 to upload also.

  • I look forward to it I love these big-bird vids and I never get to travel!

  • wow! amazing.. im going to fly air nz next month.. 747! pretty excited.

  • wow nice take or what! perfect weather n all; what i loved best was the engines revving up @ the start of the t/o run - love it! sounds pretty similar to A330 engines (the A330 i'm referring to is Airtours, now thomas Cook, My Travel in between, G-MLJL I think it was)

  • Yes, you've got to love those afternoon LA take-offs to London. I done plenty and don't think I've ever had anything but sunny weather. Great for views over the whole of LA and onwards over eastern California. Quite often get to see some of the aircraft graveyards in the Mojave Desert.

Yes, that initial take-off rev of the engines is the best part and amazing to see those heavy wings starting lift as the roll continues. The sound of the old 747-200 RR's still the best for me though.
