  • BRO, this time i really respect u

  • you said "long left to right stride then quick right to left" does that mean i should make a long 3rd step then my final two are quick? or just a big 1st to last step then a quick final step

  • @oneonly606 long left to right.... short right to left on the take off... one foot take off..

  • @freejumptraining so its basically long, short, short? sorry i just wanna make sure so i dont practice the wrong thing and develop a bad habit

  • @oneonly606 long to short.

  • @JamBadz

I totally agree with you dude! I recommend that

    program found at the site:

    JumpHigher.info

also to any athlete who wants to maximize

their vertical jump and quickness. I tried it myself

and It gave me an intense regimen and gained

    tremendously.

    Thumbs up if this helps.

  • Jacob, if you do some 1 legged exercises such as the Bulgarian squats, 1 leg DL, or 1 leg ploys to isolate each leg and strengthen the weaker one, will that transfer to a better two legged jump?

It is just that sometimes doing two legged exercises, I feel like the stronger one is doing more work!

    Thanks

  • @ilikebirds120 yes single leg squats are fine.

  • is the jump manual geared toward one or two legged jump? or does it help both equally?

  • @proteincheese helping both..

  • speak up, shy ronnie

  • Yeah he does look like the dad from jack frost

  • @MrDrm125 lol whose the actor?

  • You look like the dad that died from Jack frost! LOL

  • Thank you Jacob! I've seen many well known basketball player use this form, such as julius Erving and free throw dunkers, and it seems to make alot of sense. I hope i can incorporate this into my jumping form and hopefully by God's grace increase my vertical.

  • i could not hear what you're saying

  • @Antonio12Goncalves I was saying.. please turn up your speakers... ;)

  • @freejumptraining max volume and nothing

  • @Antonio12Goncalves .. actually I was saying.. plug in your speakers... no dud I have no idea why ... sorry!

  • hey Jacob i bought the jump manual and dribble manual like 2 weeks ago and i still haven't received it... im pretty anxious to start using it.. when will i get it??

  • i need some help on my form?

  • what about two legs jumping?? because im a jumper not a leaper D: can you please help.

  • @TheMamaful Check out my other form video.

  • I just bought the jump manual. idk what my vert is but im a little under 6ft and i barely dunk. I constantly slam it off the back iron or lose control of the ball. I hope to add around 10 inches to my vert

  • its called a penultimate step and its actually the last 3 steps, not 2. im sorry but are you really qualified to be attempting to "teach" these things?

  • @inmymind801 actually the word "penultimate" means "second to last"... pen = next to AND ultimate = last... thus "next to last."

  • @freejumptraining what you failed to mention here is that jumping has to be an acceleration and you should never intentionally drop your hips. The jumping leg is supposed to work like a lever. That being said there are 2 styles of jumpers. There is the strength jumper, like Lebron James, who is going to have a slightly longer ground contact time and a longer stride, which will cause a small amount of drop at the hip. The other style is a reactive jumper, like James White.

  • @inmymind801 Thanks for the clarification.

  • @freejumptraining The reactive jumper will use a much shorter stride, using the jumping leg as a level. Dropping the hips will actually kill your jump, and should never be done. You want to maintain high hips if you want to jump high. Check out the teaching of my buddy Adam Linkenauger ( 7 time ACC High Jump Champion ) if you want a more thorough analysis of jumping, from a qualified elite level athlete. He can jump pretty damn high too.

  • @inmymind801 sounds good man, thanks for the recommendation.

  • @freejumptraining actually pen comes frome the Latin paene, meaning almost (a peninsula is almost an island, insula being Latin for island.)

  • holy crap im 14 and i was just like 1" away from dunking and i wasnt ever doing this now im like 3" above dunking it im amazed it worked so well thanks!!

  • this is what i need becuase im only about 5,11, 6,0 and i can take one bounce and dunk like a post player becuase my two feet jumping abililty is crazy but one leg is hard

  • how long do you train for a day??

  • i would've came to meet you if i knew you were in morocco ...unfortunatly

  • what about the hands when u jump without the ball? When i try to jump one legged, both my hands will seem to block my way to jump higher.

  • Just sprained my ankle when I was finally getting my whole hand above the rim at only 6ft, it really sucks. With a 7ft 11 standing reach, I think I'm breaking the 30 inch vert mark, but I really want to get close to the 50 inch mark. I train 2 times each week, and play basketball fairly often but don't really see any gains so it it possible for anyone to get that kind of vert?

  • hey man. i have a huge problem. i purchased jump manual but somehow it was locked. i spent 70 dollars to nothing. plz man could u send me the workout? i would be grateful cause i cannot afford 70 more dollars. :(

if u don't believe me, i had done the workout of the first day before it was locked. it includes speed rope, zig zags, rim aproaches, medicine ball aproaches etc.

    plz help me man.

  • amazing! sounds extremely similar to the technique described in vertfreak by Adam.

  • hey im 16 and can nearly dunk a football however it seems i can just higher from only takin 1 step..rather then running. i think its because im losing all my momentum of two feet as i seen to just run-stop-jump. sometimes my single leg jump is better but recently i have been having trouble in grabbing the rim. do u have any advise that could help me? as i think i have a bigger enough vert i just need to find the right jumping style, also were about do i need to take of from?

    thanks

  • Thanks

  • im 6'9 460 pounds and i can dunk like lebron

  • @anthonywellman wow big woop thats not impressive.......

  • Hi, SuperJump2010 & SuperJumpTwo2010, on YouTube, 4 & 1/2 feet vertical, over 4000 views, amazing videos

  • I was wondering if you could explain if the ball movement has any influence on the jump ?

  • how do i know which is my dominant leg?

  • @gunweapon by which hand you dunk with

  • @HHOOBB11 right

  • so would that be the opposite leg or the same leg (as the dunking arm)?

  • Thanks soo much for this!

  • one thing Im doing is just playing basketball hard... jumping for rebounds, jump shots , blocking etc ... I believe the more you play and the harder you try the higher you get

  • i can dunk easily off of two feet, but one leg jumping is a little harder for me... what are some more drills i can use to increase my one legged vert?? thanks for the help

  • Try doing your drills unilaterally (1 leg at a time) BUT you need to practice off onel eg ALOT... more than you do off 2 legs. Most people I train like jumping their dominant style and never improve the others.

  • heyy.mann.

    i need like 9in more

    to dunk it.

i can grab rim easily but cant dunk.

can you help me out on what to do??

  • thanks jacob!

  • after about 30 minutes of talking

    u explain

    but good vid though

  • im 5'7 im in highschool and can get rim but i need these extra inches to help me dunk it, please help

  • i gained 4 inches by doing this. 5'6" 2 handing 9'5" now.

  • Glad to hear it!

  • is all this info and stuff on the jump manual?

  • Whatcha doin' in Morocco?

  • Working, traveling, training etc.. where are you from?

  • I'm that kid at BYU atm. I'm originally from Pennsylvania.

  • i went 2 mororcco once or twince they speak aribc there its really good but i get scared there wen am alone

     the beach is great

    the food

    every thing

  • im 6'3 i can dunk but i cant slam the ball i need the extra like 2 inch boost so i can 2 hand dunk i jump off 1 leg so please help me lol

  • hey men , i am 5'' 11 and i wanna dunk , i grab the ring ... wath is the best manner to jump : one legs or two legs ??

  • You're wrong. First know the terms:

    1. Limit Strength - voluntary force

    2. Absolute strength- maximum potential force can apply. It's rare for untrained sedentary folks to use more than 50% their potential.

    3. Relative strength - strength per pound

    4. Rate of force development

    5.Starting strength

    6.Reactive strength

One foot use mostly reactive While 2 feet is explosive which is voluntary.

  • good vid

  • man vs wild bitch

  • PHD-pritty huge dick

  • single leg

  • just uploaded a video no rim though
