  • Why blame president Obama at the end? When his administration was new the repugs stopped everything pelosi put forth in the house by killing it in the senate, the senate then was known as the place where legislation went to die. Then the repugs and tea baggers gained the house of reps, where their stated mission was to see that he failed. Well, they have done that and we have failed, in a sense. downgraded by the very crooks who got us here, the s@p, and obstructionism in the house.

  • Are you kidding me? I admire the compassion and the greatness of their hearts. But it often leads to their head. Economic bill of rights? The only economic amendment that should be placed in the constitution is the separation of wealth and state. You can't just say everyone deserves a good pay, job, house, car, and vacation. At whose expense do these things come from? Doesnt make any sense. Why not just raise the minimum wage to $50 per hour, we can all be rich!

  • @AroundSun How about lowering hedge fund managers' average hourly pay from $900,000, yes, you read that correctly, to a more reasonable number. I agree that not everyone should earn $50 per hour, but no one should earn $900,000 per hour; which translates to $1.8 billion per year, if the manager worked 40 hours per week for 52 weeks. If I made $900 K per hour, I'd work for eight hours and could retire with about $4 million after taxes. You are underestimating the greed and power of the rich.

  • I do believe in what FDR's vision, but its not Obama's fault as you allure to at the end. He might be the president, but that doesn't give him the right to do whatever he wants. Look at the current reform... the public option as if now is for the most part gone and done. But you cannot blame him for that. He tried, but he alone isn't going to convince the Republications to think other wise. If anything, blame the people of Massachusetts for their crappy votes, haha

FDR had the foresight to explain his proposals in clear detail to the people, he did not attempt to impose upon them any plan he did not clearly articulate, that is why many of his proposals past, and why Obama's are not.

  • There are more than two sides. I agree that corporations should not have the powers of government (that is, a monopoly on the use of force), and I am not naive enough to believe that all corporations are above abusing the law to siphon wealth from their competitors rather than creating it themselves. But so-called "economic rights" are also incompatible with freedom. Rights are freedoms to action, not entitlements to certain products, which are necessarily produced by someone else's effort.

And now the business gets to fight back. If anything its not only fair but an expansion of LIBERTY. And you cant stand it!

  • If you dont line the corperation it is yor right not to buy their goods and services. Futhermore it is your right not to invest in them. What is a corperation but a bunch of shareholders? What is a campaign contribution by a corperation than a board of shareholders voting to donate money? And if you dont like it then your voice can be heard by a boycot of their stocks and goods. Its a full and fair democratic cycle!

  • Actually people were in bread lines because after the Fed manipulated the money supply (creating the bust) both Hoover and FDR tried to hold up wages (creating massive unemployment) and then FDR undertook several actions (such as plowing under crops and slaughtering pigs while people went hungry) that prolonged the Depression for years.

    Human rights are always bought and sold when you steal liberty in order to give people equal things and equal status. The only thing that liberty allows is equal oppertunity to persue happyness. How you get there is up to you. Thats true liberty.

  • Sound like a libertarian which is admirable. I would disagree on the use of the word Happyness. Apparently also disagree on Pearl Harbor, but will remind that sometimes decisions are made for secret reasons.

    The United States of America has a wonderful Constitution but it does not go so far as to define any Human Rights, that's what the UN did in 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights affirms a long list of protections, unfortunately many Corps in the US/World find ways to bypass. Solution?

For how I say as peacefully as possible. For when I say now. As for were. We use Youtube, we register people that are able to go to Washington and we gather. People are going to have to give up alot of things for this to work, but for our childrens sake! It must be done.

  • The founders all rejected collectivism. James Madison who wrote the constitution rejected collectivsm. Thomas Jefferson who wrote the Declaration of Independence rejected collectivism. Socialism is the absence of liberty in order to provide for the "greater good" in the name of "fairness", whereas freedom is the ability to persue happyness in your own manner in a country that has equal oppertunitys, not equal results.

  • America is in need of a great President on the order of this great one- FDR, and those on Mt. Rushmore, Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt. So many of us had high hopes for Barack Obama on that beautiful Election night, and while he's a lot better than the last guy, his potential for greatness is going unfulfilled. I've not given up on him, but he needs to remember why he ran for president, stop pretending at it, and step up to the challenge. We need no less than that!

Please read "The Founders Constitution". Our last truly great president that measured up to our founders ideals was Reagan.

I've completely given up on America after seeing how the conservatives have responded to the health care debate. I plan on moving to Canada after I graduate college, as it already has many of these things. I'm sick of America. The America is ridden of hypocrites and idiots, and it's not going to change, but there are other countries like Canada that aren't so conservative.

  • I lived in Europe for four years and I saw the fruits of these rights first hand. There's nothing rocket science about any of this. It is mere common sense. If we can teach others how to do this, we can certainly teach ourselves!!!

    People, we need to stop accepting "No" as an answer. No more, "Yes, we can."

  • The Reason we don't have these rights is because corporations and the wealthy have absolute control over our nation and the politicians we elect. It is Ironic that the politicians pass bills into law for wars and wall street bail outs but still can't pass a bill for health care reform even with a public option let alone universal health care.   • Less civilians died in both bombs at Heroshima and Nagasaki than did at the battle of Okinawa. If anything, thoes bombs not only saved lives on the our side but the civilian side as well. LOOK IT UP! More civilians were killed in the battle of Okinawa because the Japanese were killing their own people as they were seeking much needed aid from Americans. And before they would get defeated in battle they would kill all of the civilian population. Im tired of this liberal history BS!

  • The origional bill of rights was set up so that the States had protection from abuses of federal government. It was meant so that every state and its people can choose their own manner to persue happyness. Life, liberty and the PERSUIT of happyness. FDR tried to GUARENTEE happyness. This is not in keeping with the founding of our nation! The problem with FDR and Michael Moor is you need to take liberty away in order to enact their utopian view of America. No thank you. I'll keep my liberty!
