what? just because the first thing you see of them is them live doesnt mean theyre only used for marketing. tthis band is great theyve been playing long before they got famous and shit its not like theyre just some popular "marketable" band that happens to be OK.

First of all I heard Vampire Weekend WAY before they were popular. First album I ever heard was the self titled EP. I have their album on Vinyl, right behind Grizzly Bear album and a Kevin Devine album. Both of those artists are from Brooklyn and both of them are significantly more interesting. I'm NOT saying they are bad by any means I'm just saying that there is better stuff out there and this is another example of how bloggers hype bands and people drool. Its unimaginative and boring not bad.

@Vin2241 What's tje purpose of your comment? You're just trying to politely tell all Vampire Weekend fans that we're wasting our time liking them. Like chelseamurray said, having an album on vinyl is very common now, and I too agree that Grizzley Bear is about as bland, alternative rock as you can get. However, I love that Chris Taylor from Grizzley Bear produced the new Morning Benders album, which rocks.

Jools Holland's show goes out earlier in the week before the watershed as a shorter show so the swearing in MGMT's set was cut but Vampire Weekend we're probably on later in the show on a Friday which is show at like 11PM.
