Nice to see a range of bikes i remember from my childhood, and more specifically those sounds you just do not hear anymore, particularly big strokers like the kettle, that low down growl at tick over and scream like a banshee at acceleration.Great vid!
great stuff.you guys know your bikes and know how to get it across that these older bikes are brilliant, flawed and characterful.made my spine tingle.thanks
THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A SOUND TO MATCH A WELL FRASHED TRIDENT!! Except a) Rolls Royce Merlin b) Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Page and c) a Stradivari violin. True??
Yes, Goldie Twitter was nice...Morris Minor bark etc!! By the way, I put Lucas Rita on my 750 to help all round (REALLY worked by getting rid of crappy auto advance) and tickover was Perfick! I could get it to blow smoke rings at about 500 RPM !!!!Lovely.
you guys look like your having fun!! just love the sounds!hurricane is awesome brings great memories when dad rode one in nz!! maybe they will build a retro one? cheers for the vid!! muzz
The Mach III has a very fond place in my heart. I had a 1971 model and I still love the deep note it produces before it gets on the pipe and screams. Had a '72 Mach IV too. I also love the Commando - a beautiful Brit bike and have always liked Brit triples. I currently have a 2003 Thunderbird Sport. It is like a bigger faster better handling modern Trident. Keep up the great vids. Cheers Doug.
Cheers Doug, my H1 is a 1974 so is probably a bit less scary than yours was but it still ties itself in knots around corners, glad to see you're still riding a Brit bike. Cheers, Anth :-)
Love the sound of the kettle...........Looks like a million bucks and I bet it goes like two!!!!

All you can buy now is the Boyer but it's still a lot better than running points, does away with all the little coughs and splutters. Anth.

More relaxed noise and emission regulations is one reason. Modern stuff is more sophistcated too which means it is not as raw.
dougbm53 4 years ago
I agree, modern bikes just don't feel the same as the old ones.
