...yeah way cool! And deceptively tricky to play it right (keys). Great to see so many people still feelin it, keep the fire burning Booker T and MGs!
i NEVER get tired of this concert.....wasn´t there a documentary planned on Booker T & The MG's ? someone told me the same guys behind the stax doc would do it.
btw.: check out my Vinyl-Uploads-Channel for a RAW SOUL STOMP PARTY
Donald "Duck" Dunn is absolutely one of the best bassplayers in the world. Just because of his simplicity. He ain't playing one note too many. Amazing!
This was recorded at Njårdhallen in Oslo, Norway on 7 April 1967. Also performing that night: the Mar-Kays, Albert Conley, Sam and Dave and Otis Redding. Enjoy/god fornøyelse
You guys can see the love! These guys really enjoy jamming! Nothing more beautiful than music! No hate,no racism when guys jam like this. Music is the food of love baby!
GOD is forever. Booker T and the MG's was for a while. Your a PRICK if you cant see the differance. GOD and Jesus like Booker T and the MG's. You hate them because they dont play "The old rugged Cross". Get over it.
I was kidding :-) Though I really did want to spy Cropper's licks, Duck's probably more entertaining to watch. What a great band, and if the MGs weren't enough on their own we even get to hear 'em backing the likes of Redding and Pickett. Just icing.
You can take your synthesizers, computerized Pro-tools,plugin sampler-pitch correcting modules and shove 'em up your ass ! Put a group like Booker T and the Boys in a cramped little steamy studio down Memphis way and let the music cook baby....LIVE ! the way it's supposed to be.....
CONTINUED *** Here is a place to probably inspire those who are new to this sound to go out and get their recordings.. There is nothing like owning a part of history holding it in your hands and putting the needle to the record.. Or pushing that cd in and pressing play. RIGHT ON MAN!!
The best part of this performance is the variation that Jones and Jackson play that is not on the album version. Unfortunately this video cuts off before that part.
What a great tune .One of those that changed things then
