well, a station wagon shouldn't be compared to a much lighter and stiffer coupé anyway. the M3 is a sports car, the RS4 is a fast but also quite agile highway racer with a lot of understatement and practical use.
Well, you see how the biturbo increases the HP's in all cars... more HP are bigger engines from my point of view.
And even the RS4 is a station wagon I consider it a sport version as M3 is.
I would really love to see what is best between the new M3 and the new RS4, even this last one has 0.2 litre more I can bet that M3 will make a best performance.

i guess, considering performance, the RS4 and the M3 are quite close to each other, as both have the same engine output. on a track, the M3 will be faster though as it's more agile and lighter but also a stiffer ride.
i like all three of them...though im not a fan of mercedes' (and AMG) philosophy...

135i is a blast!! congrats man! 3.0 litre, 300 hp... 6 inline... that's a wow!
and 128i without the twin turbo is still a great and fun car to drive, with an excellent relation price/features!
