The Jews of Palestine may not have had much of an army, but they had everything else; farms, doctors, road builders, etc. They'd built a functioning community long before the fighting started.
It is very easy to make a snide remark about someone who died from a practice that was common to his generation, who did not know the physical repercussions of smoking at that time. Even in late life when the truth of smoking became known, compassion should be given for a severely addictive habit.
Are we missing parts of this movie? I'd love to see the whole movie!
