This might be their best written song ever. And yes I have heard all of their stuff. While I love stuff like "About an Hour Ago", "City on Down", etc, there is something about this song where everything comes together. It has it all: strong melody, sax, great lyrics, and a wicked song structure.

I was in Iraq and OAR came and played. It was just after we lost a lot of men in a helicopter crash. They were very supportive and dedicated the show to the survivors from the platoon.
Needless to say it was a very special night and I am an OAR fan for life. 52/50 resonates with me. It is a magical song and captures the essence of going to war and missing your lover and home.
This song will always remind me of a special time in my life that holds great sadness and great joy.
The version of this song off of "Live from Madison Square Garden" might just be the most powerful version of any song they've ever released. The entire second half of the song is so strong that I get chills every time I listen to it. Easily one of my favorites they've ever released.
52 weeks 50 days is the standard deployment time for US Military, Its about a fight with the one you leave as you deploy and not being able to express your true feelings for them.
Stories of a Stranger in my opinion was a bit of a letdown (compared with the perfect In Between Now and Then). But they made the right choice to have this as the last track on the album. It leaves a great taste in your mouth since this is quite easily one of the best songs they've ever made.
Sitting around a fire, with your friends, enjoying the musical geniuses that are OAR, love it, dont hate, relax and enjoy!!!!
Amazing to me how many haters on this site will dog OAR, saying they are "Rod Pirates" and "turd Burglars". Actually what is amazing is that the bitches writing that shit have tags like FATSO800.. You are a huge piece of shit. Fu*& hater. get a life and get your hand of that fuc** twinkie you douche!
Saw this live for the first time when they played in Balad, Iraq where I was stationed. Very appropriate at the time. It soon became one of my favorite songs they do.
personally, O.A.R is one of my favorite bands. I've seen a lot of great live shows, dmb, metallica, petty, the black crowes etc.. O.A.R is hella nice live.. seen em a buncha times.. they are more appealing to a younger crowd yes.. but if you're a true fan of music, you can appreciate all aspects of this band.
i love their band live.. its just a great time. no worries.. everyone is there for the same reason- to have a beer and dance and have a good time!! i had such awesome times!!
I like this comment very much, I am a true fan, I have seen this band live and they are awesome, one of my favs ever and I am 54 years old. My grandson has loved this band since he was two, he is five now and still asked me to play O.A.R. Like the new album, was very glad to hear they are still doing it.
You can tell that OAR is a college band just by looking at the comments. I love alot of their music though. I did see them live too and it was a great show except I felt like the oldest woman on earth..lol:)
@foots7 To my knowledge, OAR , much like Dave Matthews Band, supports sharing of live recordings...video/audio or just audio... HENCE...they sell "recorder" tickets ... where you can plug DIRECTLY into their soundboard... they have a problem with you SELLING recordings..but not sharing them!!!!!!
yea they went to my high school, no biggie
