  • People ask why I named my rabbit Munaf Rayani. This is why.

  • Munaf's passion KILLS me. Its indescribable .

  • <3

  • Muy buena

  • there coming to london in January! i can't wait!

  • @nickh0101 you are a loser

  • @nickh0101 go die.

  • Going to see them in December.... man, I can't wait... If I don't have at least one tear in my eye by the end of the night, I'll be very surprised.

  • I am tremendously jealous of everyone in attendance at this concert.

  • can't wait for NJ

  • one of my favourite songs..

  • I love how he pays his respects to god before he starts....

  • @mustbejames1 Lol what?

  • Thank You Kev

  • I can't wait until Sunday when they come play in boise, i got my tickets and im ready for some explosions!

  • AWESOME! Music you can feel.

  • RIP Tambourine...

  • In case anyone was wondering, the name of the song is The moon is Down.. band name is explosions in the sky

  • @plutoend99 thanks i never would have figured out the band name from the video title

  • Thats passion right there

  • tambourine dude was so nasty i had to put porn on when mom came in the room

  • kill the tambourine!

  • i dont think i've ever seen anyone put so much passion into playing the tambourine before. amazing band.

  • Que vaina tan arrecha!!!!!!

  • Why do I ball out in tears everytime I hear this?

  • Before this video I didn't take tambourines seriously.

  • hell yeah, dude went apeshit at last night's concert, phenomenal performances. can't wait to see them again..

  • @doctor594 yeah, munaf slaughtered the tambourine in oakland

  • btw how is the tambourine audible? is it mic-ed or near a mic?

or is it just too damn loud without mic

  • @murdoches considering how hard he was whacking the thing i'm not surprised we can hear it

  • @murdoches The thing he duct-taped to his guitar is called an E-bow. it's a big magnet that amplifies the feedback of the pickups, and acted as a mic for the tambourine.

  • if you don't love munaf rayani.. fuck you.

  • When they originally wrote this song they were just jamming to the main riffs and Munaf started doing this. Everyone thought he had some pent up aggression and thought it best to let it out on this song. It also sounds awesome.

  • seen this dozens of times since it was first upped in 2007... god. it's still as impacting as ever.

  • this is the last time i saw them before i moved to germany. best live band ever, or atleast that i've seen. bought the vinyls at this show. play them once a week

  • i know for a fact that this song is called 'The Moon Is Down'!

  • intensely amazing

  • its vibrator!

  • Ahhh, why would you cut such an awesome song?

  • sh-sh-sh-sh-shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit maaaaaaaan

  • awesome T_T

  • he goes apeshit on that tambourine haha

  • Whatd he tape on to the guitar?

  • @shamrocker52 eBow

  • @kensteee maybe embarrassing to one whos concerned with their outward appearance and not with completely losing themselves in the music. and if youre going to bitch about them stealing off another artist, listen to more than one song by them. its all completely original and heart-felt.

  • Is that an e-bow that munaf attach to his guitar :) , i think i can notice it under the tape, absolutely emotional majestic.

  • If you really want to marry an Latino women come to us rockmycity.info

  • If you know someone who doesn't know about post rock, and you want to get them hooked on it, send them this video.

  • i was there, there was a big disco ball

  • @kensteee lol

  • @kensteee It's nice to see people become more open minded with age.

  • @kensteee You are an idiot. I'd like to see you pour more emotion into what you are playing than him.

  • This song remind me when i was serously depressed when my gf broke with me..

WOW brings lots of bad memories...

  • what city is this?

  • @refusedchad Philadelphia

  • @KamratAnders thanks!

  • Honestly, is there any other live video on youtube that's this good? I'd like to see it if there is.

  • When I first hear this band, I immediately got goosebumps. This is the only music I stood in complete awe after the first listen. This band creates some of the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard as a human being. I feel it is almost a privilege to know that this band exists. Thank you EITS.

  • i love these guys! they get into a trance when they play, its insane.

  • Munaf is one of the koolest guitarists I've seen ever...

  • I want to see them live so badly.... they look so epic.

  • better then sex ..

  • for some reason i haven't yet been able to find another "post-rock" band that captures this same amount of emotion...

  • jeus christ thats the coolest thing ive seen a guitarist do.

  • Munaf is seriously hooked on salvia while playing this.

    I can FEEL it.

  • Awe.

  • watching munaf perform makes me want to be a better person.

  • me gusta

  • how could anyone not think this is absolutely amazing and inspiring?

    wonderful

  • i don't speak music-language or whatever... but that thingy at 1.26 has always been my favorite explosions-moment... how that bearded guitar-guy plays this repetetive pattern, and then it just changes...

  • He probly never wants to see that Tambo again

  • I'm not saying this band should go mainstream but I'm wondering why they're not more popular. One of the greatest bands I've heard and people only whisper about them.

  • Hey you think you could send me the full video also? sorry haha. but this is toooo good.

  • @DaizyDroid read the info section

  • @KamratAnders Yeah i went and downloaded it but when i try to open it, it appears to not be a movie file. It's just a piece of paper and it won't open. what should i open it with? I have a mac, does that matter?

  • @DaizyDroid You need to unpack it using some tool capable of extracting rar. I dont use mac so im not sure of what the recommended program is, although i did see people raving about unrarx. Might be what you're after.

  • @KamratAnders yeah, eh. fuck it. haha. too much work. too much crap cluttering up my computer.

  • @DaizyDroid Seriously though , do yourself a favour and reconsider it. You will need a rar extractor one day or another since rar is more common than herpes (and way cooler). It's nothing short of a miracle that you apparently been able to avoid it so far. Just sayin'.

  • @DaizyDroid if you check out the videos where Michael (guirat/bass) is wearing a blue shirt, in front of a large crimson curtain, you can download a full video of that in the more info section... Its an amazing show!!! I've watched it probably 15 times now, its about an hour long..

ill just post the link to the vid

    watch?v=YLlYQQrHmh8&playnext_from=QL

  • What song is this??

  • The moon is down

  • the moon is down from the album "those who tell the truth...."

  • hey thanks alot for this video and the link!

  • Right, to keep things easier. (and to make you people stop bothering me ;) ) i've uploaded the whole video. See the info section on where to get it.

  • where can i find the full video?

  • Can i get a copy of the full video too mate? this is epic!

  • Check out my little demonstration of this song if you'd like.

  • I LOVE THIS

  • All I can say is......freaking genius!!

  • What impress me most on this video it's the audio quality. Usually, non-official recordings have a shameful sound quality, and a complex, full of details band like EitS is pretty much unhearable without quality.

  • Does anyone know what Munaf gaffer tapes to make his guitar hold that note forever when he slowly turns his guitar back up. Fucking incredible by the way.

  • It's an e-bow. Read previous comments.

  • Thanks for the info. But not for the snot-nosed tone. I would take the time to read through a shitload of comments but its a common preconception that YouTube comment threads have a reputation for people writing things that make them sound like petulant little cunts.

I can't imagine why. Go fuck yourself.

But again, thanks for the info regarding the ebow - I'm going to ask for one for christmas.

    All the best.

  • Ebow, man. they are amazing!

I wanted one for a long time and my buddy bought me one about 6 months ago and i love it

  • For it's obvious that Munaf just had the braingasm of his life.

  • i get chills watching this. they are fucking fantastic.

  • Tambourine Status: PWND

  • I as at this show!

  • Munaf and the tamborine..it made me speechless. &It's so great to see how passionate he is with the music, it's really touching. ♥ Explosions In The Sky is fucking amazing. The end.

  • I concur.

  • I lol'ed.

    Amazing video though.

  • you are the most stupid person i ever seen, he his an artist. i think u never touched a guitar or any instrument

  • let's try not to be the group spokesperson until we learn gooder-er engrish, ok? :P

  • wtf, my god man, your life is not complete without this song!

  • By far, my favorite track by them

  • there not even there, one of my friends is a singer he told me great performances dont come with good thinking they just get lost in rythm...if u listen this track without watching video u will see how well munaf played tambourine...great music

  • i want to buy that tambourine!

  • watch them live must be amazing is my desire

    thanks for your music.... <3

  • i dream about this kind of music.....toooo good! 11/10

  • bellissimoooo O.O

  • Absolutely incredible and passionate performance by a band who lives up to these two adjectives constantly. The Moon is Down is one of their best moments too.

I loved seeing Munaf with the e-bow and beating the shit out of the tambourine XD.

  • What did that poor tambourine ever do to him?

  • hey man that link to eattapes is no good, can you post a better one? thanks, awesome film job

  • Sorry, i realise it's down but im in sweden and don't know the guy.

Also, it's been a couple of years ago since i discovered it and i have no idea what he's doing now.

Send me a mail and i'll hook you up with the full video if you want it.

  • hey is there any way you could possibly send me the full video of this?

  • @kelslord Sure, check your inbox.

  • @KamratAnders and me too...?

  • @dtan117 You got mail!

  • I caught them for the fist time at the lips show in atlanta. I was fully stoked on their sound. I have been a huge Mogwai fan for years and cannot believe that we have a great band very much like them right here in Texas....who'da guessed. I have purchased a cd and a t-shirt on line since the show and will visit each album no doubt.....

  • DUDE, why are they sooo Great every time and every performance is epic almost euphoric to the point you forget all your problems and live and i mean truly live.

  • that is way to good <33 always been a big fan

  • the first part of this song reminds me of the anxiety I felt inside an airplane before skydiving for the first time: The wind roaring through the small exit that you can barely hear anyone talk, looking down and seeing clouds passing slowly, realizing your several miles up, and thinking "what the hell was I thinking?" The second part of the song is the rush of jumping out: The feelings of fear, bliss, and wonder simultaneously surfacing, and for a moment being between heaven an earth.
  • nice lighting

  • he's totally killing that tambourine.xD

  • Comment removed

  • munaf can do whatever he wants he is the coolest man alive

  • whats he putting on the guitar at the beginning?

  • its called an EBow... it uses the field of the pickups to make the string vibrate continuously... pretty rad

  • i really have no idea, but it seems like he's creating his own additional fret to keep the high pitched buzzing going

  • Looks like he is taping an E-Bow to the guitar.

  • he is.....................

  • Don't worry, you and millions more.

  • Ya, I would def-o get a real hair cut and listen to real music. Drop that emo scene and listen to some more post-rock, it's full a vitamin C.

  • you fail

  • Incredible.

  • shit, munaf's the man

  • there is no singer, all instrumentals

  • ............

  • fucking brilliant

  • That's some hard core tambourineing.

  • There this sound (0:06-0:07). It sounds like something falling. Stars maybe...
